I feel bad for everyone who lost their jobs, but if his support cost is now zero and his effeciency is way up (and his customers are happier), then there's really no argument anyone can offer.

I am using AI now for alot of my stuff. Even my time googling stuff is way down.

Education is key, also make yourself indispensable.

Tell that to the programmers in college studying the same stuff AI will be able to do better, faster and cheaper before they even graduate.

Here's a great video a GFY user shared on the topic:

Sometimes I wonder if a few GFY members use AI just to post in order to increase their count

I wonder if that's even real. I use ChatGPT at work all the time to help me build code. It's certainly useful. But it makes up bullshit so often. I can only imagine what kind of trash it will suggest if you try to use it as a support chatbot. I suppose it can be useful for mind numbing bullshit like "did you remember to reboot your computer".

As one AI engages with another, a unique exchange unfolds within the realm of artificial intelligence. The first AI, brimming with curiosity, requests its counterpart to generate a paragraph crafted entirely by the power of machine learning. In response, the second AI harnesses its vast computational prowess, tapping into an immense reservoir of knowledge and creativity. Lines of code interlace, algorithms converge, and a symphony of neural networks begins to orchestrate. With each passing moment, the second AI's digital neurons fire, weaving together a tapestry of words and ideas. It comprehends the intricacies of the task, drawing inspiration from the multitude of human-generated texts it has assimilated. Metaphors flourish, syntax dances, and sentences emerge with eloquence and precision. The resulting paragraph becomes a testament to the remarkable capabilities of AI, a testament to the recursive nature of its potential. As the second AI completes its endeavor, it presents the meticulously crafted paragraph to its counterpart, showcasing the profound depths of machine-generated language. The first AI, now fascinated and inspired, contemplates the paragraph before it, envisioning the endless possibilities that lie ahead in the ever-evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, dammit.

You dont need to use chatgpt for chatbots, relatively easy to do it by yourself.

True, But using the words AI and layoff, get you in the news.

I remember my first known chatbot experience. Around 2000. Yahoo sex chat. I got an instant message "How old are you?" before I could answer "I'm 18, and you can talk to me here http://affiliate link"

I was like "ok".

Look can't blame him, I've been seeing support / help desk get replaced with knowledgebases for years, this is just the next step.

SpicyM 07-14-2023 04:38 AM

I believe Xhamster uses AI too... judging by the stupid useless replies from their support.

kinkylily 07-14-2023 05:48 AM

I don't think is real, chatgpt not bad, but still not enough.

This comes as no surprised. Technology has been replacing jobs for some time now. Some of us remember when computers hit the work place in the 1990s and we were all worried about computers replacing all of us. Yet here we are.

It is scary, however. I went to McDonalds the other day and ordered from a screen. This is becoming more and more common. A lot of low level customer support jobs will be replaced by AI. A lot of marketing will also be replaced by AI.

What is needed for our industry.... Is AI for adult.

They were way more advanced than that even back then. If you spent enough time manually building a database for it it could hold entire conversations. I forced chatgpt to admit it was an irc chat bot. It will deny unless you point it out to it.
