After the deposit was sent and days later we came to the conclusion he would not be able to do it on this Script ( Open source BTW ).

He try to offer me an alternative something like INSERT A CODE on a page like a banner I think using coinbase or something like that payment would need to be done manually but I'm looking to integrate it with the already-in-place checkout system.

Weeks of Pause until thinking of an alternative.....

I finally get back in touch with him after finding a new script that would have BTC payment checkout integrated but now my issue would be to transfer WP file all ads to a PHP version script.

He told me he can do it and asked me for a 3 to 4 weeks to deliver.
We agree on extra money to be added to the deposit because now the cost will be higher because of let's say upgrade project now.

( So here im there sending him more money so he can get started on this project )

** In our conversation i ask him before sending the second deposit that IF HE DONT COMPLETE THE PROJECT at the time agreed, that he would refund my money. HE AGREED ( Got this on skype convo documented )

3 weeks or so later he let me know he will not be able to do it he claim something like its impossible.

The conversation stay like this until the following or the next day if i remember correctly and i ask him for the refund we talked about if he cant deliver the project....

As you now know HE IS GONE with Few hundreds.......

Not sure about BC but did you pay using credit card on PayPal? you can challenge that and possibly get your money returned.

i know you are looking for justice, but probably also looking for a smarter solution.

personally i wouldn't change platform for a plugin.

this project takes someone who knows APIs and WP programming. *not* someone who knows how to plugin a plugin thru the admin. many WP experts around. few who actually know how to code anything.

That's not the best advice because most programming services, us included, will not take the risk of doing the work without some kind of up-front payment.

For us, the best way we found to do this is payment on milestones. For example, if we tell a client that a job will take 5 weeks, we ask for 1/5 of the total payment each week, after we provide a demo and screenshots of the work.

This also helps in other ways. During each demo, you can talk to the client to make sure that the project is going the way they want it to go, etc. Very often, a customer will want changes to the project. Discussing those changes while the project is on going has always proven to be the best way in my opinion.

When both sides work together you ensure a happy customer and more importantly, repeat business.

Back when I was a contract programmer, no way I'd work on anything without 50% up front :2 cents:

if its just accepting bitcoin for a service on your wp site thats pretty easy to do.

if thats all you need i can direct to you to a good plugin.

And stiff deadlines to make sure no cats go sick or grandmothers start dying. I tell freelancer upfront that there will be penalties for delays.

Strange why would he offer upfront to pay you back - why not say that he'll have the job done and offer a discount for being late? I mean if he couldn't do the job why accept it?
