Who Are the Worst Content Thiefs?
There's a lot of talk here about piracy and it's a horrible issue for our industry.
And it's not going away unfortunately. What I'd like to know is, what websites are the worst content thief's? Obviously the torrents. That's a big duh. Most of the big tubes have either gone legitimate or claim to be. And let's face it, many of the companies in our space and creators use them for both promotion and monetization. There's a revenue line for many of them on almost all of our deals now. But what sites continue to deal in pirated content that we should know about? It has been brought up before that supposedly legitimate traffic companies sell traffic from these sites. So who are the worst offenders? Who do you find yourself sending the most DMCA takedown notices to and who is ignoring them? |
sending DMCA takedown notices to sites you find are using your content is not an ideal idea because there are hunderds of sites there and it is impossible to delete your content from all of them and even if it is possible it will be just a waste of time. The best solution is to always include watermarks of your link or website on any video you make so that if someone upload it to one of these sites this may be a little benefecial for you because it will be like a type of promotion for your link. I am used to see comments of people asking about the name of the model on a video or where they can find the full video, so if you include your link as a watermark on your videos at least you may get some visits from some interested people who come from these sites.

Damn Colin, thanks for that. I didn't remember the post. I just may ask Reba for that list. Can't wait to see you at one of the shows! |
Hi Bruce, what will you do with the data?
I know what DMCAforce.com Monitors and handle DMCA for the largest adult companies in the world. Let me know why you need this list and I'll ask them. |

I know your question was about adult content theft but just wanted to throw it out there that these giants built themselves up on lots and lots of unauthorized content use. Sure they have a 'policy' but they also know deep down that without stolen or unlicensed or unauthorized content, their profits would be cut in half or less. |

yt demonetizes copyright material, but they don't stop playing ads. seems like that's copyright infringement. worst content thieves are torrent and file lockers. they are purely sharing stolen files. tube owners are huge fucking fuckers, but at least you can watch videos and rub one out. # |
Google helps itself to images, scraping sites to its hearts content, assuming that:
1) If you really care, you will play their game, tweaking your robots.txt and metatags to "opt-out" of their unauthorized content theft/republishing. In many cases, they "damage" the presentation of your content, by showing it in crappy resolution, casting a bad light on the quality of what your site provides. They also effectively hijack your traffic, by obfuscating any link to your site that owns the content. 2) You will find all of "their" copied versions of your intellectual properties (they're clever enough to not hotlink), and DMCA them, with no recourse to recoup lost revenues/opportunities. DMCA seems to have benefited the largest publishers with "free" access to others' content, while having the resources to "oops, sorry" when called out. DMCA seems to have taken out the right to seek damages for unauthorized use of content, prior to DMCA notification. :2 cents: |
