I remember a guy from many age ago (actually a decade or so) who spent all of his salary in an MMORPG (not WoW) and we are talking about big money, like 1-2k USD per month. He claimed that otherwise he has nothing to do with his money (single guy without a family or a pet, probably with own house). So yeah, it happens.
