It's the use of "talented" that he objects to.
For example, when people tell an athlete that god has blessed them with this talent.
People see it as an insult to all of their hard work, when some lame fuck gives all

ability + practice = talent

check out singing competitions. no one there singing their first song in their life. and no one with RFKjr's voice is trying out. u gotta have some ability and then practice a lot.

cam models - day one they all suck, some don't get a single private, even with natural ability. 3 years in they are sucking the fans dry.

i only know a few people (IRL) who can do my job. was i born knowing how to write a function? i had some natural ability to understand logic and then practiced a million hours.

this fighting dude never practiced? he was in the gym all day all night since he was a kid. he has natural ability to respond quickly. he beats people with less practice and ability, and gets beat by guys with more.

Yes and no, have you ever gone down the Lance Armstrong rabbit hole? He was 100% talented as all hell, but it is undeniable that he did cheat.

I played in a band a long time ago. I practiced constantly on my guitar. We finally got a pretty good band together. One of our friends hung around with us all the time. He went somewhere for about 3 months. He came back and could play a guitar like nobody's business. Finger picking and just blowing all of our minds.

He had a natural talent for the guitar. I played because of persistance, perseverence, and determination. Playing came easy for our friend, he didn't give a fuck, never really cared about his talent. He just let it go.

I had a natural talent for the drums, but ended up with a guitar. Go figure.

So many people focus on motivation when it turns out PLACING THEMSELVES CONSCIOIUSLY / PURPOSED in the "right places" play a bigger role in CONTINUOUS OR CONSISTENT SUCCESS

Some may argue that the ability to be determined, focused and work hard to achieve goals is a talent on it's own - not everyone can remain determined or disciplined within the focus of business or goal set. Not giving up and pushing through after failing over and over is a talent. Success doesnt come to you over night so hell yea you need to work hard and be obsessed.
A natural gift is a different story ie you dont really develop a great singing voice with practice or paint Mona Lisa level drawings - there needs to be some sort of natural gift embedded here to become successul combined with hard work & determination.
