Last year, Perry claimed he had spent close to $9 million getting sober over the years — and finally triumphed. The star had been drug and alcohol-free since May 2021.

So far the only news I've seen says there was no drugs/alcohol present. And pretty sure toxicology can't be done that quickly. So yeah, source please?

RIP Chandler Perry :( :( Loved that show (not quite as much as Seinfeld, but yeah)

Friends star Matthew Perry has died aged 54 - after accidentally drowning in his jacuzzi at home, sources have told MailOnline.

The actor, who shot to fame as the sarcastic Chandler Bing in the seminal 90s sitcom, was found dead at his house in Los Angeles on Saturday after emergency crews were called at around 4pm local time.

He is understood to have been found in a hot tub. There was no indication of foul play and no drugs were found at the scene, sources said.

:1orglaugh

At one extremely low point, Perry said, he was taking 55 Vicodin pills a day and weighed 128 pounds. He revealed he did 15 stints in rehab and underwent 14 surgeries for addiction-related medical issues.

Basically, on par with Bidens son. Would have been better if it was Bidens son though.

Many are curious how the hell did he die. You're assuming it was a day drinking accident mmmmmmmkay. Why not wait for it rather than trying the rumor thing? :upsidedow

55 Vicodin and also reported quart of vodka per day, and mixing! The damage that probably has done is ..... :warning :Oh crap :helpme

And you're right about Biden's son, I'm surprised he's still alive too, and not killed himself or others from his driving 100mph while on crack.

Good point, but also nothing wrong with asking for article link if there is one. If anyone sees updated article with the details please post. Anytime someone dies it could raise awareness so maybe others can learn/prevent illness or death the way he (those who died) did :)

TheLegacy 10-29-2023 06:11 AM

He was still part Canadian and yes he had an addiction - who knows if that had anything to do with his drowning. The fact is at that age - he's still young and should shock many of us that death happens at any time no matter who you are or how old you are.

We've lost some amazing people this past few years and outside of RIP - if anyone is going through an addiction or depression please seek help.

NatalieK 10-29-2023 09:02 AM

I liked his character in "The whole Nine & Ten yards", both fantastic films...

a sad loss, still young too... RIP Matthew Perry :(

The Porn Nerd 10-29-2023 09:25 AM

Very sad but the dude had ongoing lifelong problems. Now his struggles are over and he can rest in peace.

Still very, very sad. R.I.P.

It’s sad we put others before the health & wellbeing of our own citizenry.

This guy always has quality thoughts:

LetterTwenty7 10-30-2023 01:29 AM

He had a big heart. His book Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing is a must-read, and for me personally, it helped me reflect on my own life.

2MuchMark 10-30-2023 05:49 AM

Thank you Mathew Perry for all the laughs. Rip.

Yeah, I know - But what I mean, is that when one celebrity dies, its awful...
But to lose two brothers, so close together? That must be devastating for the family.

They are not brothers. Not even related.

i saw this on facebook

Quote:

“I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I'm still working through it personally, but the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic or drug addict comes up to me and says, 'Will you help me?' I will always say, 'Yes, I know how to do that. I will do that for you, even if I can't always do it for myself! So I do that, whenever I can. In groups, or one on one.

And I created the Perry House in Malibu, a sober-living facility for men. I also wrote my play The End of Longing, which is a personal message to the world, an exaggerated form of me as a drunk. I had something important to say to people like me, and to people who love people like me.

When I die, I know people will talk about Friends, Friends, Friends. And I'm glad of that, happy l've done some solid work as an actor, as well as given people multiple chances to make fun of my struggles on the world wide web...

but when I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people.

I know it won't happen, but it would be nice."

I'm not trying to rip on this guy at all just trying to be helpful. If you truly feel that calling alcoholism and drug addiction a "disease" actually helps you then more power to you however I tried that route and it never worked for me until I finally pulled my big boy pants up, found things to feed my soul (dog rescue/fostering) as well as just deciding to be a man and deal with the situation. Now I allow myself a single alcoholic drink from time to time and I truly enjoy it. There's nothing like an ice cold Coors light banquet while trout fishing at Moose Lake in Montana. This has been successful for me for 15 years and at this point I don't even crave alcohol anymore. My personal opinion is all of that talk about addiction being a disease is just enabling and is part of victim culture.
