Youtube now cockblock adblockers
If you want to watch youtube without ads, and you use popular ad block extensions like adblock pro, ublock and others, now you get pop there which forbids you to use them. However, it is possible to use it with browser specialized for adblock like brave browser and free adblock browser on android.
Normally i dont even use adblock, but in case of google/youtube ads it is a necessity - youtube ads are very aggressive , they interrupt video always and they are quite long. And when it comes google display ads which can be usually seen on many websites, for some reason they are crushing my PC hence one more reason to block them. But , any other ads, are fine. For example, porn tube ads are not aggressive at all and there is no need to use any kind of adblock there. |

I use this one on Chrome & Firefox - I started to get the popup, but they updated the adblock and now it works flawlessly. |

I've been using YouTube ReVanced on all my devices for years, so I don't know what Google ads are and why I should block them :upsidedow

I like ads . . .
|
I just pay for YouTube Premium. Their ads are unbearable, but I'm happy to support the creators whose content I enjoy.

Just saw on FB this funny pic:

Why is everyone suddenly hating on Youtube? At least, that's my impression. You always have a choice not to visit the site/app, and problem solved.

What annoys me despite paying for Premium sometimes to lose the ads is that many creators put ads in the actual video itself so you still get hit either way.

Also: I think that the amount of advertising has is destroying what makes the Internet useful. I don't mind a banner ad here or there, but pop-ups and other intrusive ads are just plain dumb. If I go to Popsci.com for example on my phone, Sometimes as much as 40% of the screen space is covered with ads. I used to love popsci.com but since they started over-selling their adspace, I rarely go there anymore.
I think site owners can learn from this. Sure you want more revenue but if the ads are making it harder for your users to enjoy the content, maybe consider dialing it back a little. |
One more thing on the topic. Consider using Pi-Hole https://pi-hole.net to block advertising across your entire network. It is free, fun to build, and it works extremely well. It works so well in fact that it speeds up your entire network. It even does local DNS look-ups which lets sites you visit often load faster.

Its actually the creators themselves that set what and how many ads you see - Plus we are the ones who decide if they are Skippable or not... :2 cents: Above is a screenshot of todays upload to youtube. I have turned skippable ads ON, but have left it default to let youtube show whatever ads it wants - As long as they can be skipped. So assuming your are watching stuff from bigger channels, they are the ones making the final decision - We could turn off all of the ads, if we wanted to... :2 cents: |

News articles about this is getting hilarious - first , "no more adblocks , say goodbye to them" to "google getting screwed because people are now switching from chrome to browsers which support adblocking"
