Are top lists worth backlinking too?
Ok, so i´ve checked our stats & seems some top sites only send like 2 or 3 clicks a week, is this worth backlinking to them?
We originally set up a load of backlinks thinking of the DA, more backlinks, higher DA, but seems some of these have lower DA than our blog anyway & when you realise they only send a few hits a week... is it worth it? This is serious question for the SEO guys. Just wanting to know whether to email the top lists & dump them or to leave the outgoing link to lower DA sites on our blog. BTW; this isn´t all top lists, just a handful of them! |
Your obsessed with DA. The sooner you stop the more success you will have
But what the hell do I know? Not a serious SEO guy |

But I'm Gen X... my brain thinks "pizza near me" and "big tits" and "hot wet pussy" But what if getting clicks is "best pepperoni pizza with lots of cheese and rich sauce vancouver" or "big tits with small pink nipples and a blonde woman by a pool jerking off a cock" or "close up view of a pink pussy with a hint of wetness leaking out of swollen, hot pink lips" Am I a schizo or what?!?! |
if your site is good, the top sites will link you

We´ve heard many times over the past year DA mentioned by others, saying how it makes a big difference. Anyway, getting back to the thread, it´s not the DA of the top sites i´m asking about, I´m asking anyone who knows SEO & good search management, is it worth keeping these top sites that only send a few hits a week & are much lower than our site on our backlinks side bar... So there´s 2 reasons to be deleting & notifying the site owners, the lack of hits & their sites haven´t had any work done or increased DA since we did the links a year back... to me, if you don´t work hard at a project, a site, our business, no point in doing business with them. TBH, i´ve probably answered the situation myself, and to drop them. I would like to hear from someone that knows about this sort of thing first though. I wouldn´t want to drop the sites & it effect my site in a bad way, obviously :thumbsup Quote:
i have a 10 top sites all owned by the same person & no work on their site has been updated for over a year. We only get a hit or 2 a week from them & their ranking hasn´t increased like others & our own site has, obviously due others & us working on our sites :thumbsup Would you drop sites with lazy owners that are giving nothing back? |
DA is a third-party metric from outdated company MOZ and has nothing to do with Google's algo (secret of course). Also, DA can easily be faked.
Top sites can't send you big traffic unless you have a very attractive big banner. Guys watching porn, not searching for sidebar links. Header links can bring some traffic, but in most cases, it is site-wide - millions of links = spam. As for backlinks for SEO - you need to check backlinks manually - with experience - it is worth it. Also, traffic to the linking sites does not bring any rankings to you site by itself, but the link from a zero traffic site = that site can have a hit of Google penalty and link juice is in question from it. |

I notice you mention lots of links can be seen as spam. Maybe why our sitelock was showing malware & spam free, as obviously we´re not updating spam, just solid individually wrote blog posts. However, the huge amount of backlinks on the side bar could be the issue! Thank you :thumbsup |

Overall, Google considers many links from a single domain as one. |
I said it the other day in another thread of yours that sidebar links or trades could be considered spam. How many big sites with rankings on Google have a lot of outgoing links?
Also I notice that you have a ton of varying anchor texts in your backlinks which could flag up some issues with Google The sites sending you low amount of hits. Put them in semrush. If they get a lot of search engine traffic then I'd say they are worth keeping. If not then probably not |

we´ve come to a big predicament, the 10 top list sites we were asking about on this thread, 3 of them are sending good traffic, 7 are sending BS nada. & all are low traffic into their sites with low DA of 27. are the 3 sites sending good traffic over ride the 7 that don´t, we´re linking to all 10 obviously. Do we dump them or leave them lol :upsidedow :helpme :1orglaugh |

Personally, I never expect traffic from sites. Usually, links will get only a few clicks, but their value is relevancy and authority passing on to your site. So if the link to your site is placed in some relevant article in the same or similar niche on-site that is not penalized (but that's something you will know before getting a link there), I don't see a reason for stopping trade. Eventually, they will remove your links too and that will affect your SEO efforts. |

Go here, https://ahrefs.com/backlink-checker Check each site you are getting links from. See where they get links from. If the site has a good amount of links from good adult sites (lots of at least dr 40 to 50 or more), keep the links. If they have garbage to inflate DR/DA then ask to remove trades. Use DR instead of DA. But they don't mean much either way. Just ahrefs is best :1orglaugh |

Your best bet are press release links in 2023 and beyond

If you want traffic buy a banner on a tube site
If you want a link for SEO don't expect many clicks It's rare to find both and the ones that provide both aren't free or tradeable |

In reality, these numbers, DA and PA, mean nothing. Instead, focus on the quality of a site's backlinks, its age, and the number of visitors. These are the factors that truly matter. |
