Do you multitask? Does it work for you?

I try to multitask.

I always have several windows open and I try to run batch processes on some windows while I switch to other windows.

Tasks that need analysis and insight can take a while since I jump from task to task to "refill" motivation.

Then I circle back to what I was doing before, get more done, then jump again.

Do you do something like this?

Or do you just pick one thing and hack at it until it's gone?

I also do the POMODORO method to power through low analysis tasks

6 screens open in front of me

I''ve usually got at least a couple things going on at once and some crypto daytrading in between.

I was talking about this just today. A study was done about multi-tasking and found that although people thought they were being more productive, they were actually less productive due to cognitive adjustments between tasks.

That's precisely what I do. It's the ADD brain. Unfortunately, it does end up leaving ends not quite tied a lot of the time, but I feel productive lol

Multi-tasking is a lie. You are not really doing it, even tho it looks like it. I mean, no matter how many tasks you are working on or how many screens you have in front of you, you're actually looking at only one at a time and doing one thing. Also, focusing on more than one thing at a time is unproductive. It is much better to have a deep focus on one main thing. :2 cents::winkwink:

So when I'm watching crypto price charts and making trades while I'm also working on websites and have a GPT model spitting out content and uploading it's not multitasking? I don't have time to do all this shit separately.

I just do it as a hobby testing different AI options but when bitcoin is jumping up and down it gets exciting.

Have you considered crypto copytrading? Basically hitch a ride on crypto traders who tend to be more right than wrong when it comes to trades?

No, never considered that. I also tend to be right more than wrong. Stick to your strategy and don't trade too much to get emotional over. When you're winning it's hard to keep the trades low, it's a discipline thing.

Yes, it works for me; but this is what I consider multi-tasking :

Just now : I left the computer, took a shit while drinking beer and smoking a cigar.
Then cleaned the toilet, sink and bathtub.
Now I'm back at the computer drinking beer and smoking a cigar.

So by multi-tasking, I now have a clean bathroom, getting drunk and nicotine high,
working on the computer and I didn't shit on myself.

:thumbsup

I like to jerk off while watching a porn video and while listening to classical music. Is it multitasking ? :jerkoff

I multifap. I have six or seven Pornhub and Xvideos tabs open at the same time and cycle between them.

When you're multitasking, one or more tasks usually end up being done less effectively. Especially when a task demands deep thinking or analysis, multitasking doesn't really work because it divides your focus. This means that if you're trying to deeply understand or analyze something, splitting your attention across multiple tasks just won't cut it.

Excellent point.

Effectively = QUALITY

Focus = QUALITY

I notice that multitasking works best for LOWER FOCUS tasks like skimming conversations for marketing purposes or monitoring many conversation among different platforms based on themes

Of course, it works like a charm for really low effort stuff like copying and pasting
