Do they have control over your PC or just your accounts? If you have a RAT on your PC then it would be best to re-install windows ASAP.

If its just your accounts then its likely that your details were leaked from a data breach

Pay the ransom.

I am trying to change password but I don't remember an email password I used when I registered.

What is my first step? I contacted support...

- Disconnect your PC from your Network
- Login to Microsoft and change your Windows login password first from your phone or another PC. Then do the same with Email, Banking, Social Media.
- Use Passphrases, not passwords. Passwords are for old twats just begging to be hacked.
- Enable 2FA on everything. 2FA by Text is ok, but Microsoft Authenticator is alot better.

After you have done all of the above, run a virus scan.

Check your user list and make sure there are no unauthoraized accounts. Delete any you find.

Reboot.

If you have a restore point you can try restoring from that spot, but before to delete any weird looking user accounts right away and run a virus scan again.

If its clean, reconnect to the Internet then do a software update to your operating system.
