Just watched a good podcast with Fat Joe talking about how he told a fib to his large entourage that he was not able to pay their way anymore. Only a small number of them decided to stay with him regardless of his money. That's how he trimmed the fat and discovered who his real friends were. Good life lesson.

First time I met Fat Joe was at Skate Key in 1994. The promoter lied to us, said he was going to perform. Things and people started flying around. Fat Joe performed for us, right in the middle of the floor, with no mic.
