Watching youtube vids is not going good for me today and yesterday.
Is it my connection/etc...?

You have an ablocker installed? possibly adblock?

It doesn't need to be turned on persay, just installed...

YouTube deliberately slows down its load speeds / buffering, even bitrate...

Just started doing this a couple of days ago. For me it does it in chrome, but firefox is still working with the adblocker blocking ads...

Yeah, that seems to be the deal.
I disabled adblock and it's a lot better.

I always watch Youtube with Adblock Plus. Makes for a smoother experience.

For everything else, I recommend that you install pi-hole on your network. It works perfectly.

Youtube is using the shittiest hardware these days. No other site needs so much CPU and don't even get me started on full screen mode. Eats up more resources than a rocketship going to the moon.

They should really learn from Netflix.

I'm watching it on Android TV with ReVanced, so it's always in adblock/Premium mode, and today it's working as usual.

I always prefer in video sponsor shout outs. the pre-roll vids are annoying. if I have to see one more evil princess cartoon game I will grab a sword and slay her myself

JoeyB just started doing them after a long while doing in vid shout outs. (gracias 2muchMark for turning me on to him)

he entertains me to no end. 3 mins at a time. I was all down for his on film shouts. now this video game ad stuff that makes Mario Bros Nintendo 1980's seem current? whatever, still a brilliant dude. but an extremely annoying change in monetization strategy

I'm using a bridged internet connection where my laptop, which is like 50+ feet from the wireless hub, is the gateway for my router that gets my desktop online. The connection is pretty slow, but YouTube of all sites runs incredibly fast. If anything, other sites actually run much slower. YouTube even in 4k is actually smooth as hell, which is impressive given that I'm using my wireless laptop connected via 50+ foot away from the hub wifi, over a thick concrete wall and through a tiny pane of glass, then directly to the wooden building with the wifi connection inside.

I use AdBlock on my PC and youtube is running just fine
