got a favorite classic book?

I remember reading "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" by Jules Verne.
Haven't read it in years. But just thought of it after watching Tron Legacy.

What time frame is classic? Does Tolkien count?

Probably not old enough to be included, but one of my all time favorite books was Slaughterhouse Five.

Yea, I consider that a classic. I consider "A Brief History of Time" a classic.

This, plus Kurt Vonnegut's 'Breakfast Of Champions', Tom Robbins' 'Even Cowgirls Get The Blues' and, of course, the immortal 'Portnoy's Complaint' by Philip Roth.

I am not into classic books...

Oddly enough my favorite book is the "Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich". I just find it all to be an amazing stories from Hitler's early days to the end of WWII.

My second favorite book is about the Falklands Island War.
