Why I'm done with CCBill - Part 1
 

I updated the payment address for my CCBill affiliate account that I have had for over 20 years. I subsequently received an email confirmation that the changes have been made. But then a day or so later, I received the following email:

BEGINNING OF MESSAGE------------------------------

Hello,

We have received your Payout Method Update Form for Affiliate Account XXXXXX. The form is set to pending at this time. Please be advised that your payouts are placed on hold while this form is pending.

Our team would need up-to-date documents on file prior to this update. This is due to our Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policy.

Please provide us a Selfie holding your valid government issued ID. It can be one (1) of the following:
• Valid U.S. Passport
• Valid U.S. Passport Card
• Valid U.S. State Driver's License
• Valid U.S. State Identification Card
• Valid U.S. Permanent Residence Card
• Valid U.S. Military ID
• Valid Learner's Permit (18+ years old)

To confirm your address, please provide us with a utility bill or similar document for proof of address displaying your name and matching address listed on your affiliate account.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

To update your information on your affiliate account, get to the admin login screen, select the following link: admin.ccbill.com/loginMM.cgi

Once you are logged in select Tools > Tools > Edit (XXXXXX). From here you are able to make changes to the info on file.

As for your questions regarding PO BOX please be advised that PO BOX is not acceptable. To be acceptable the mailing address needs to be a physical address.

seems like you didn't pass their new requirements. shit is getting tight out there for the billers and banks. everybody is having to refresh all their documentation.

if the little bit of paperwork isn't worth the payouts, ignore them and move on.. or sell your account to someone here with a legit LLC (are they transferrable? who knows lol)

ps their chat is a lot better than it used to be. ccbill has a solid team at the moment. i talk to them at least a few times a month for various accounts.

So you need to prove your identity and address? Wow harsh man. LOL A thinking person might say (not me of course) that if you can't provide an ID or valid address then, you know, who the fuck are you?

Not a big issue if you are legit.

Illogical response
 

It's this attitude that is permitting a climate that is making identity theft so much easier, and identity theft usually comes juxtaposed with fraud.

Just take time to think through this scenario logically. Failing to present ID and show a utility bill doesn't make the act of being an affiliate webmaster any worse. Showing ID doesn't make it any better. Deal with the underlying activity. Either something is a criminal act (i.e. it violates another person's rights) and should be banned/outlawed period, or something isn't a criminal act. No amount of identification should make a criminal act legal. And something that isn't criminal shouldn't be illegal for merely failing to follow some arbitrary requirement that helps facilitate ID theft.

What you are saying is not that you support more honest amongst webmasters. You support eliminating other webmasters (your competition) for failing to follow some BS rule.

Adapt or die and we are ALL in competition with each other. But that is not my point here. Rather it is the fact that you are over-complaining about legitimate documentation requests. If no big deal, a BS rule, then comply and carry on with your business.

Or, complain on a Industry board where you have zero standing (or post counts) and are being seen as someone who is incapable of complying, not making some righteous stand on privacy.

No ID? No valid address? No bueno, no moolah.
