Music copywrite issues on videos?

I'm a bit concerned about a lot of my content I have on my site Downblouse Loving:

https://downblouseloving.com/tag.html?tag=Dancing

It's the dance videos which there are currently 1,800 of. All the music on the dance videos is popular pop and rock music. Obviously I don't own the copywrite of the music but I always thought it would be OK to have it on the videos. A friend of mine has warned me I could potentially get into trouble for using music on the dance videos that I don't have the copywrite to.

I've noticed that whenever any affiliates of Downblouse Loving use any of the dance videos on their sites to promote Downblouse Loving they always add some other music to the video that, I assume, is not copyrighted or they have a license to use.

I wondered what members of this forums thoughts were on this. What potential trouble do you think I could get into? I have thought that I should just remove the dance videos and add music that I could buy a license to use.

This. Plenty of license free music to use.

You could get sued. Your videos could get taken down. You could get hit with a large licensing fee...

Lots of options for the owners of the music.

You should also not allow your affiliates to add their own music to your vids.

What this wise and experienced man said! :thumbsup

A huge no no...

live cam girls can be sued for music in the background & many cam sites do not allow this as the music is copyright and cannot be used in any way to create income...

the same with video, especially porn dancing clips, these are a huge NO, you cannot use music you´ve not paid for the copyright.

Change it immediately :thumbsup

To add, any porn or movies played and seen on view in the background also needs the copyright licensing paid for or should not be used :2 cents:

Yes, I've found some license free music that is quite good. I'll keep looking for more. I'd like a good variety of license free music as I don't want the same music on all of the videos. It will take a great deal of time to do this but I can do it gradually.

Yes, that's the worry I have. I don't mind the affiliates adding their own music as it's pretty obvious they are using free licensed music. Which doesn't sound very good but at least there is no worry there of being sued.

Thanks Natalie. I guess I'm going to have to change it. I'll most likely take all the dance videos off the site soon and then find some copyright free music to add to them. I'd like to find a really good variety of different copyright free music as I don't want all the videos to have the same music on.

You do not know for certain the affiliates are using license-free music. So either provide it for them or stop them from doing it. :2 cents:

Hi mrmarlowe,

I am working for 3 different music companies in my mainstream life, and each one of them takes rights and royalties really seriously, and collect royalities every time any of their songs are played. One of the companies owns the rights to tens of thousands of songs, and the technology and network they use to find out when their music is played is extensive.

What you should do is replace all of the music you are using now with royality / license free music asap because if you get caught, it could end up costing you tons.

Make your own music using Launchpad:

https://ampifymusic.com/launchpad/

It is fun as shit. I made a ton of dope tracks!

Thanks. Wow, that's a brilliant app. I can't download it to my iPad as it's got an old ios but have downloaded it to my iPhone. I created a drum and bass track easily. It's possible I could use this app to create music for the dance videos. I'll definitely have a go at doing that though. I also play the piano so if I don't use it for the dance music I'm going to enjoy creating tracks to play my piano along to which I love to do.

Thanks for your advice based on what you know. It is a constant worry now that I could get in to trouble for using music that I don't have a license to use. I'm going to have to take those videos down and add licensed music to them. Then I'll have peace of mind. I've been looking at free music you can use and have found some good tracks. I'll get round to doing this very soon now.

That's true. I just assumed they were worried about having one of my videos on their site with unlicensed music. But I'll get in touch with those affiliates to make sure they music they have put on the videos is licensed or free to use.

Not for adult, because frequent condition is giving the creator credit....Nobody wants to be associated with porn.

Read the fine print.....:2 cents:

I never thought of that. I'd be happy to pay for a license to use music if it wasn't too much and it allowed for adult content. I don't want to have to be giving the creator of the music a credit. I'll look into this more later tonight. I'm sure I'll find something suitable that I can use. But will make sure that it's music I can use on my adult videos.

Another possible solution - Go on fiverr and get someone to make you an original beat 'in the style of' <THE ORIGINAL TRACK> - Or just us AI...

You should copyright your spelling of "copywrite" and sue everyone who fucks up and spells it that way.

I spotted my spelling mistake but it was then too late to edit my post. I usually take great care over my spelling so was aghast to see that spelling mistake which I cannot correct. It remains forever here. A permanent blemish on my good spelling.

That's a good suggestion. I might be able to use someone there for cheap labour. I have over 1,800 videos that I'm going to need to add new music to so I want a good variety of music. It might be expensive to pay someone to compose new tracks for me because I'd want lots of different music tracks. But I'll look into that. I've found some good license free music which works well with some of the dance videos. I just need to find more and make sure it can be used for adult content and without having to credit the creator... I don't know how to use AI though to generate music. Will look into that though. I'm basically just spending a lot of time looking into different options and allowing myself enough time to come up with the best solution.

Interesting. I will have to check up on that to see if this applies to all license-free music or if there are sources who do not care if it is used for adult.

Other ideas: scrape that awful 'wah-wah' porn music from classic movies and use it? Not sure about this one tho....LOL

What I would actually do is contact artists with lots of unused music they wish to monetize short term and strike a license (or better yet outright purchases) of say 100-200 pieces of their music. Cut a check, it's yours.

There are lots of ways but Google it and then see which ones work best for you. Personally I like the models that I can run locally on my own machines or in my own cloud, but it really depends on you.

Well I'll give it a go to see what's out there.

Let us know if you find anybody with free music ( I doubt it), but there may be a few where you pay reasonable fee and get music without having to credit the author and it can thus be used in adult.

We do NOT have to use "Wah Wah" old porn music. We are publishers of ALL music on our mainstream movies, so we just " nip and tuck" from those.

I think it would be tough to find anything good from these unpublished "lonely wolves", but hey.... Google is our friend, so one never knows.
