Poor Things

I just wanted Poor Things over the weekend. it didn't look like my kind of movie at all but WOW was it ever fucking good!

It is so weird and interesting, and I didn't even know it was a sci-fi movie until watching it. If you're looking for a really cool flick to watch, check it out.

He used to brag about getting them and how he looked forward to getting the next and next next ones :1orglaugh

Cuck Prints, I'd have thought you more of a Human Centipede type of guy, fantasizing about being the end guy.

I'm more into Five Night's at Freddy's! Great movie! My 7 year old loved it.

Watched it, it was oddly interesting. Actually I watched The Lobsters and The Killing of a Sacred Deer, all of those movies were directed by Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos - he makes those kind of mystical and weird movies, which stabbing your guts directly, yet they are oddly interesting. I enjoyed all of them, tbh.

Retiree 03-19-2024 06:15 AM

Can't stand any of those 2 actors...probably some woke crap, anyway.

Nah it was pretty good. I'm glad she did the prostitution in Paris, not the USA, or people would've screamed sex trafficking. Prostitution is more accepted in places like that.

I liked how by the end of the movie she was pretty much normal and got that way on her own (trying not to give it all away so being vague)

RyuLion 03-19-2024 10:23 AM

I loved the trailer!

adultinnovation 03-19-2024 10:41 AM

shitty dumb movie

Thanks for the recommendations. I had never even heard of this director before. "Poor Things" is probably the most stylized movie I have ever seen.

Lol aren't you clever? Work on those insults all day, didya? Here's a head-pat for you little guy...

I actually love Human Centipede 2. HC1 is just a typical horror movie and HC3 is kind of boring, but HC2 style and acting fucking cool.

Nerds Rule!

Let me clarify... it's billed as a sci-fi, but it doesn;t look or feel like a sci-fi. This fucked-up shit happens to this girl, which is impossible without sci-fi, but still plausible. The sci-fi element is there, but completely secondary to the main story if that makes any sense. Don't not watch the movie if you're not into sci-fi. Just watch it. It's smart and Mark Ruffalo is great in it.

As a worldwide “public square,” this app should be heavily regulated for misinformation & spamming by hostile interests. If Elon can’t do that with his “company,” it should be seen as a public utility under governmental supervision. This system unregulated will be more deadly.
and then he posts dis/misinformation:

Lanky? LANKY?!??!?! Why you fuckin' son of ... bast.... yeah you're right. That happens to be very accurate. I am 6'3" and about 180lbs and kind of lanky looking... but if you want really lanky, in high school I was also 6'3, but I weight only 130lbs... so yeah, fucking lanky...

Of course that's what comes to your mind. Why even bother stating it anymore?

CurrentlySober 03-20-2024 02:41 PM

Actually, did you see the version where she has sex infront of 2 children?

Although I have yet to finish the UK version, I'm told that sequence is deleted, for the UK market...

That kinda annoys me - Not because i specifically want to see that scene, but because I hate censorship when it is localized - If the rest of the world see a certain version, why should 'my' version have scenes missing?

I am also a child of the world too... :2 cents:

Well, apparently not. I got to that point last night, saw a scene of a father fucking her infront of his sons to educate them... and I couldn't really see what the fuss was about. Unless it was a much different scene in the non UK versions?

I was watching on Disney+... tempted to go download a version, just to see if its different... But then that would take me a minimal time and effort, and I really cunt be assed... :(

I mean the only reason I watched it in the first place was the name... I hoped it was a simple misspelling, and that the letter 'R' had been left in by mistake...

I don't like overtly weird movies . . .

Yes, that is the version that plays here. On Disney even. They didn't censor a thing from what I can tell.

It's weird for reasons I don't understand, as its style doesn't seem to drive the story or offer a point of view even, but its style is really interesting and entertaining. I love things like dutch angles and negative space in movies when done right. My better half never seems to notice them but I do and point it out ot her sometimes. Poor Things was the first time she ever said that she loved how a movie was shot. The movie is full of wide-angle shots and Ken Burns zooms too. I don't know what its for but again its super interesting...
