A friend had a heart attack at age 28 which was the same age as me at the time. I sold my business and "retired" for 7 years.

I sold 15 years ago... came out of retirement because I was bored.

i am nearing the age where I look (and feel) too old to perform with models and I don't think I want to hire other guys and watch them fuck, so yeah I think about selling all my sites more and more lately haha

Fuck no, I love this stuff. Only thing in adult I do is dating though. 98% of my stuff is never mentioned in these circles.

You are badass. I love it cause its made me a millionaire but I can't say I love working anymore. I just don't really know what else I'd do - and that's the dilemma.

Maybe if the assets were sellable and the multiples were higher. Pretty rare for a lot of people in this business though.

Most of my shit is automated and the passive income is more than enough for me to retire. I work because I like what I do. I still love new challenges and staying ahead of the curb.

I sold years ago and have no regrets. I got tired of telling my daughters to get out of my office when I'm working. That was it for me.

Your goal should always be to sell. Build up your company as much as possible, then sell, exit, repeat.

What happens if you build up your company so much that it sells for a decent profit, but then you use that money to build another company, but that company goes bankrupt. Wouldn't it be better to just hold onto the good company and collect steady payouts?

Short term vs. long term goals. Pick your poison. It all depends on how risky you are willing to be, or how risk averse you are, and timing (of course).

Retirement is death...the day you stop working and stop having a goal in life, your life is over.

For sure. My family moved so often when I was growing up that, when I got to college, it was my 12th school in 12 years. So I just get wanderlust, get bored, want to do something new. Fortunately, the broad area of marketing online and offline is a pretty good fit for this.

Have you notice the more money you have the more frugal you've become?

I think just about everyone in business thinks about it.

Our sellers get out for a variety of reasons. Many are just ready to try something new.

But this is a great business and if you're still enjoying it and making money, why get out?

It is a hobby which keeps me young and out of the house and out of my wife's hair 2 to 3 times a year.:2 cents:

No, retirement is a new life! This is the first time in life that you receive a monthly income, without the obligation to work. Since I retired, I have been able to do unprofitable activities that I dreamed of doing before and I am very happy about that.

Having money and free time is a looooot more fun in your 20's and 30's than your 50's... even if I had millions of dollars right meow, it would be embarrassing to try and have fun like I did when I was younger...

Older rich people that I've been around still do that, they just do it a little slower and differently than a 20-something would.
I 'retired' once, I went to the bank every single business day for about 2 years taking out a thousand or two for the day. I don't regret any of it, but I wouldn't do that again now lol.
