Definitely right.... :(

The Porn Nerd 05-24-2024 09:09 AM

I wouldn't even call this an "update". I'd call it a "re-structuring" of how Google displays results.

Just wait for total AI-generated results. Even Amazon Alexa will offer AI voice interaction (for a fee of course).

I am very sad to say that the days of relying on Google traffic as your main source are dwindling and soon to be gone. :(

Yeah, I got excited when I saw one of my former money making pages was getting a spike in traffic again, and then I saw it was nearly all from India. I've read others saying they are getting more Indian visitors too.

It's like Google has taken note of all the criticism of their updates wiping out sites, and decided to give us all some Indian traffic as a way of consolation.

Things have gotten even worse for me over the last few days. There has been speculation that Google has rolled out another unofficial algorithm change over Memorial Day.

After all big G updates against spam in this spring we have the following:

rowan 05-29-2024 07:52 AM

One of my non TGP/no traffic sharing sites has been hit pretty hard. Made me realise how much I rely on G for traffic, and how relatively small the number of die-hard bookmarkers there are.

A few years back it was #1 for a search term that had over a million results. No SEO, all organic. Those were the days...

It's funny that this thread is here - I just had someone hit me up on skype talking about how their site had suffered and what to do. Knowing what I do - took me about an hour to find all the things he needed to do to fix it and move on.

Other clients of mine fortunately have avoided the core update problems and have gained - best advice - read and prepare along with getting involved with your site (and stop taking advice from 3rd party SEO software - it's horrible)

I'm yet to see anyone recover from the Google core update yet but would love to be proved wrong. I check sites on semrush and seen a lot of sites spanked. On the seo Reddit aswell mainstream sites been having this issue

Probably a small site that went from like 700 hits a day to 1000, unless proven otherwise.

Sodomy afoot

gar 06-18-2024 09:24 PM

So everyone is getting hit xD

I've come to the conclusion that there is no fix!

Just wait for the next core update.

Seriously, site getting a lot of traffic, doing everything by the book. Suddenly Google changes its algorithm then site needs to adapt to the new algorithm. But has anyone found it? NO.

So you know how to get a site back on track and around the Google core update? If I hire you would my traffic come back to the levels before the HCU?

It arrived a few days ago, and once again my sites are safe. :thumbsup

Spam updates target websites that break Google’s rules, such as:

Automatically generating content solely to improve search rankings.
Buying or selling links to manipulate rankings.
Having thin, duplicated, or poor-quality content.
Tricking users with hidden redirects or other deceptive techniques.

I think you are correct but I don't think it's that black and white. There's so much more to it than that. If 100 websites all create create great content on a particular topic one of them will be at position #100. Also, I see lots of spammy websites, or those copy-paste "authority" sites getting good rankings. There's just so much to consider.

It's pretty black and white. If you are going after "pussy" you are going to have a 24/7 war. Those 100 websites on a topic each will have some pages at the top for some phrases and 100 for others.
