Is it just me, or is adult real quiet lately?
Is there anything poppin' off at the moment?
Remember back in the day when a program would add a new site, and for like a few months the sales were fucking nuts? When Topbucks added Insane Cock Bros, I made so much money from like a single 1 minute clip of this blonde with her eyes bugging out of her head and looking so shocked, it was amazing. GFY hasn't been skinned in so long, I'm so out of the loop. There seems to be no hype. |
OnlyFans doesn't need to skin GFY.

Affiliate programs seem to be holding their clients closer than ever and attempting to minimize costs by not producing as much it appears. You don't see much happening on GFY regarding new sites but what attention is given by magazines and webmaster articles always now seems to focus on the popular cam girls and OF producers. That an AI generated content along with the heavily restrictive and difficult tubes these days not much seems to be moving in the way of new stuff as we are use to.

The biggest paysites of the 2010-2020 decade self-promoted on the big tubes who had already consolidated traffic from the affiliates. Big sites/programs/studios still jump on trends and launch new sites and produce arguably higher quality content than ever, but don't have a need to post on GFY about it. The "launch a new site with a clever name and ten scenes" business model is gone, the biggest companies focus on premium brands now. The biggest affiliates started their own companies, paysites, ad networks, cpa networks, or moved on to another industry. Search google for the biggest porn terms and look at what the top 10-20 results are doing. That is basically the porn industry in a nutshell. |
Adult is more or less dead save for a small percentage of webmasters.
What I don't understand is why webmasters are so scared to pivot. Competing over highly competitive keywords, to make a few thousand a month if they're lucky. If they were to take their seo and marketing skills to a mainstream offline business, they would make so much more money with way less effort. |
What Fuzebox said... GFY has been largely irrelevant to a big part of the industry for almost a decade. Paysites, especially premium ones, can upload a few scenes of a new pay site to the huge tubes and hit up a couple tube affiliates with big (but not PH big) tube networks and get more traffic & joins that way than 100 GFY posts could ever dream of bringing.
The guys who recycle content or bought content shot in 2009 and put it on a tour today are usually just either whining on the boards, or I dunno, doing something I assume. Probably not making much money, though. |
Adult started to die... This is the history according to ME
TGPs. People posted here and complained when someone did hotlink their pics. MGPs. Bandwidth was still expensive, but galleries with about 10-20 seconds were submitted. Then came the tubes. It really killed the adult industry when it concerned affiliates. Of course some of us still make money but it's no were near the old days. Traffic is king and the same network of tube sites get the biggest share of it. |
Porn turned into a hyper-individualistic sales driver where being a "boss" and "rise and grind" dictates that no one will really talk about their tactics anymore. Plus what fuze said.

If I was starting in adult today after a break, it wouldn't be as an affiliate.
Infact, I did just that a couple years ago and became the glorified OF pimp wanakawonk is talking about instead of going the affiliate route... Just helping a friend out and it turned very lucrative when scaled and the contracts tuned. The industry is entirely different. With everything available for free, the money is in the social media star with an OF... You affiliate dudes better hope this age verification thing takes off. That's the only thing that could bring y'all back from death. |
This industry is dying cause individuals do not have power
its us against the waves. before I was in this business, I was in another area of work, and there team work and unification was the real force |

Look into download offers, away from adult |
in my bussiness a big part of legit customers are in adult sites, i dunno how much money they are making. But apparently it's still okay.

There is still money to be made, even with older content. But it's not like it was 10 or especially 20 years ago. So you need to adjust expectations somewhat these days.

And what sort of platform do you use to get traffic? Blogs with content? |
I had to stop sending to more than 75% of the programs in the last 6 months.
Main reasons:
I could make the list longer, but I rather spend time removing the sponsors who are too lazy to fix their stuff and/or keep it interesting so people would pay. I did notice a lot of difference with 10 years ago when some people here acted like a king, but are dead as fuck now, and never cared for affiliates to begin with. |

Recent Google updates have been killing off lots of organic traffic
|
Porn site lovers are getting older and are less excited due to the saturation of the market. When I was 40yo, I liked looking at 25yo women posing naked. Now that I am over 60yo, I am saturated with boobs, asses and pussies depictions and I prefer visiting some Asian countries where you can smell and taste the real things. :2 cents:

It was, is, and always will be about a good fresh content. If you have that, you will NOT notice any decline. The only decline we have ever noted was early this year .... so it must be after Xmas lull ( said we) ,... or maybe it was a bad weather, or the last movie was not so good....
...and then we noticed here on GFY a thread about some assehole ripping whole sites content and sharing it. So we went looking, and to our horror we found our whole site shared on many sites like : spanbang, noodlemagazine and many others. All our movies just " click and play" ....so a panic stricken, we went searching for a "pirate destroyer" and we found one. In a little more then month they significantly cleaned up the pirates ( close to 700 take downs in one month :thumbsup:thumbsup)..... .... and guess what, our business bounced back to normal level :thumbsup That is of course only individual opinion, but it worked ! So adult is not dead or dying it is lacking fresh new content! And for Christ sake did you look lately at the quality of the models recently ? Did you see the "content schlepers" and their wares? Here at GFY? Where are all the gorgeous, Hungarian, Czech, Russian, Ukrainian babes?? Instead we get ugly tattooed, Botox and silicon enhanced shameless whores. NO class any more....Same goes for most Cam girls: Unattractive, bored all sticking this ugly pink vibrators into them.... WTF ! |
Another thing is that most people here aren't really in the adult industry, they're affiliate marketers. But, one problem is that when adult in general is going downhill for that individual, they hold onto the vertical like their life depends on it, when they should really be diversifying and testing out different verticals/products, follow high EPCs, maybe try out emails and CPAs, do AB testing, etc. It also isn't adult vs mainstream, it's a lot more complicated.
Know what I made a lot of my money on while I was in my prime in adult? Hookahs and bulk candy lol.. Now I'm just a scientist and I just moved into a nice new 3br house, because I left adult on auto-pilot long ago making only a couple k a month, it was time to leave. |

I read the journey threads over at that other forum and many describe their authority site builds in detail. But even they now are saying those types of sites are not as lucrative because of all the "G" updates, and that blogging isn't what it used to be. |

Search (Google, Yahoo) Social Media (mostly YouTube, instagram, X and TikTok but others too like Snapchat, Twitch, etc.) Blog posts News outlets (including ones like movie review sites, trend trackers, etc) Paid Spots (mostly Adsense but other targeted sites) Sadly I do not know of a Traffic Junky, Exoclick et al source for mainstream. :( |

Kind of funny getting offended over "fucker" - especially after throwing a side-eyed jab over running chat bots 13 years ago. I'm former military and could have said something extremely foul :1orglaugh
I thought I was being polite :2 cents: |
