(Rare Serious Post - No Poo) If an iMac looks like this... (Pic)

Has it permanently shat the bed? Not mine - Well, USED to be mine - Granddaughters had it for about a year... This happened today - No fault of her own... I can get her another easy enough - But pointless if its an easy fix, something I'm not aware of? Anyone? Cheers! :thumbsup |
I have no idea; but a wild guess is graphics card.
:2 cents: |
Well all cool... I just grabbed a 2017 model with a retina display to replace it for her - Its her Birthday within the week anyway, so her parents wont accuse me of spoiling her :)

Bet it looks fine in safe mode. But yeah, time to get a new one, repairing it will cost too much. Unless you got the Applecare protection plan and it's still covered, or if it's less than a year old it should be still covered under their 1 year hardware warranty.

i assume its older than the 2017 you bought, so even if its a 2015 model, you can get a 2015 used for less than apple would charge you to fix it :p

The one thats fucked was a 2009 imac - So the 2017 was an inexpensive replacement. Its only for a child anyway - She wont be trying to use professional programs on it - Just play roblox & watch youtube :thumbsup
