Are mainstream banks (Chase etc.) okay with payments from camsites

Hey guys, am just getting started as a cam affiliate, and having heard many stories of financial discrimination in this industry, am concerned that my bank (Chase) could take issue with ACH payments coming from accounts associated with Streamate etc. I am considering involving an intermediate step such as crypto or Paxum if necessary.

Not sure if banks typically keep tabs that closely, or if affiliates commonly use intermediate steps or alternative forms of banking. Would appreciate hearing your experience with this!

I can’t speak for Chase Bank, but I use Regions and have for at least 15 years and have never had one problem with any cam payment

Bank of America has seemed cool with it for me for 26 years now.

I can tell you from some one who owned a Streamate cam studio that Bank of America was the only safe one - had accounts closed by US bank, Wells Fargo and others. Also community banks are good. I wouldnt count on Chase account staying open long term. Get a backup bank just in case.

Btw, the same issue have applied to Epoch and CCBILL checks/Achs. It is as if every so often they put the name in their filters and then purge all accounts where it matches and they see deposits.

That's actual insanity. Is that even legal?

Dang, that's rough.

Looking through these replies and Camgirl/OF forums, it's interesting how people seem to have quite differing experiences -- Some report using mainstream banks (including the ones that shut you down) for years without issue.

It seems like common threads in debankings might be that the bank suspects you of violating their anti-porn clause, or being involved with illegal sex work.

Purging accounts just for transacting with those payment processors strikes me as odd, because I know at least CCBILL also processes for more mainstream industries.

there ought to be a law against this type of discrimination.

Sadly, it is. They can basically close your account for any reason . It has been bad for a long time now ever since Operation Choke Point , and they can point to that as the justification.

From a business perspective, the best bet has been Bank of America and local community banks which dont have the resources or desire to know every little thing about what a company does.

I cant speak to individual accounts, but you can find plenty of examples of individuals associated with the adult industry having their accounts closed.

There can be differences between individual and business accounts at various banks. Current laws require banks to have a detailed understanding of business activities. Despite this, there are numerous instances of individuals having their accounts closed due to associations with adult content. Interestingly, being an OnlyFans performer has become more mainstream than being a porn star, so banks might treat these situations differently now.

Open multiple accounts just in case. Capital One has 360 free checking with no monthly fees.
