How hard is it to issue an invoice?!
 

I'm buying links (for SEO) on a daily basis, and in order to be able to send payments, I need an invoice issued by the website (usually an owner).

Most of the webmasters that don't work as a company, have no idea how to create an invoice and find it very diffucult. It goes to the point that they don't want to get a payment because they can't spend a few minutes to learn how to do it.

I wonder how hard is it for somebody to fill in a form on a free invoice generator, save it as a PDF file, and email it?! :helpme

If they won't learn then they simply are lazy or don't want a record of it. So either you're going to have to create it for them OR send them a receipt or make an invoice up in Adobe requesting their signature before sending any work

If somebody can't figure this out, in the AI era, just take your free links bro. The long-term benefits of the free links will likely outweigh any write-off you missed.

I did exactly that. I was trying to be helpful by suggesting not 1 but 2 different free invoice generators. But the guy told me I was patronizing him. :karaoke Oh, and it was not worth his time. :pimp

Are you able to simply generate an invoice on the behalf of the recipient the way some affiliate programs do?

Depends on the country the person is in and their local tax laws. For example. In my area, for a business expense to be deductible, an invoice needs to have full valid adresses and contact info for both parties.

If you’re being audited, the responsibility falls on you to prove the person you did business with exists. If you can’t, your business expense will be rejected AND all your other transactions will be scrutinized. Thats a process nobody wants to go through…
