help, need a broker to facilitate a sale!

So asshole escrow.com although i've done a bunch of 6 figure transactions with them in the past, suddenly on this occasion after receiving 50k for a new transaction decide "we don't do adult content" though they've never enforced this in the past..

So I'm stuck looking for a reputable escrow server to facilitate the sale of a domain and website.

Godaddy wants 20% (lol :321GFY)

Waiting on sedo to get back to me

Where else can I try?

Thanks.

I had the same issue with escrow about 2 years ago. Went a lawyer route instead, but your other party might be sketchy on that if it's your lawyer. Something to consider...

Sly has best advice - go the lawyer route. but there are some decent brokers out there that could help

Thanks guys, Sedo want 15%, so they're out.

Still searching.

Come to Canada and give me it all in cash, I will keep just enough for a few racks of darts, fuel pump for my minivan, and a bitchin' charcuterie board

Sucks.

So Escrow manually reviews the details and throws them out if they're adult websites?

After you send them the money, apparently depending on what mood they're in, sometimes they're totally fine with it, other times not.

This is the least explicit of all the transactions I've put through Escrow and this one was cancelled..

That's what happened with me. I sent them all the money, I had already been talking to a representative, it was a decent chunk. Day or so later I get an email back saying they are sorry they can't facilitate the deal due to the nature of the website.

I will say that they sent the money back immediately though, which I was worried about.

Did they return it in full? any fees?

Yes, full. Think the only fees were my bank fees.

I used a California attorney with an iolta account to manage a sale. They are open to it, as long as the seller/buyer are verifiable and from select countries.

I'll send you a PM shortly.

broker.xxx would be the best route

MarcCabot 09-09-2024 11:05 AM

Yep. Lawyer. We usually charge for our time not a percentage of the sale so if it's five or six figures you could save a lot of money.

There are several other services exactly like escrow.com that probably don't care about adult websites

AdultDomainBroker 09-11-2024 06:17 AM

DAN.COM! There is 5% if you will bring a buyer.

Use them! I do it with my clients.
