Would like to commend Eric at Adult.com

I would like to commend Eric form Adult.com for a valiant effort to try to help save a mans life over the Memorial Day weekend.

Eric was one of the first of many people that dived into the waters of Copper Canyon and spent about 45 minutes diving as deep as possible over and over to try to locate a cliff diver that didn't surface after a bad dive. Unfortunately the man could not be saved.

I would say that this episode shows alot about the character of Eric and the others that tried so hard to save this man.

I just want to pat you on the back and say thanks Eric.

WTG Eric...

Although we all know the real reason you did it wasnt to be valiant it was because.......

And I only thought Eric was a hero to the ladies.

dchottie 05-28-2003 04:36 PM

very very cool Eric, just don't let it go to your head too much. My daughter saved a family from a burning house when she was 5 and she's been damn near impossible to live with since. Jade, go clean your room. Aw, mom, hero's don't clean their room. Go figure little snot had an ego at 5.

Real classy.

The guy risks his life to save another and someone starts up with the gay cracks.

Heh.

PenetratinP 05-28-2003 04:42 PM

If you had been there Lee, you wouldn't joke about it. I don't ever want to see another kid get rolled into a body bag while his girlfriend cries hysterically.

It was a really sad way to end a fun day out on the lake.

I wish the cops kept scuba gear on their boats instead of having to wait 20-30mins for it to arrive from shore. Not to mention all those fat ass cops who never even got off their wave runners to help look.

:(

Yer my hero Eric....did you guys go out on the lake Monday? The Canyon was empty but we had some good times and a bit of content on the channel.

Lee coulda of jumped in (canon ball style) and displaced all the water from the lake easily.

Jason 05-28-2003 04:45 PM

Eric is a true stud... :thumbsup

I jumped off the same cliff cannon ball style a day earlier and landed sideways... knocked the wind out of me. I imagine this kid landed in a position to knock himself out cold and then sank like a rock.

Eric & others made a valient effort to try and find this guy but to no avail. It sucks to come out for a fun weekend and have to experience something like this.

I'm glad people like Lee can find it in themselves to find humor in this, because I sure didn't.

Eric 05-28-2003 04:56 PM

Thanks all. I was just doing what I thought was right. I wish one of those times he would just come floating up or up high enough for one of us to grab him.

If anything watching what happened. Gave us all just a bit more perspective on how important the people in our lives are, and how easily they can be gone in an instant.

I am sad for his friends and family. But maybe if enough people who were there learn to appreciate what they have just a little bit more. It will be something that can at least have a positive spin in the end.

L_L 05-28-2003 05:46 PM

Well Eric,

Thanks again and I think that was a real stand up effort on your part.:winkwink:

boneprone 05-28-2003 06:01 PM

Eric may look like a goof, but when it comes down to it this doesnt suprise me. He's a good guy and this story although a sad ending shows a lot about the character of Eric.

Sad story but nice to hear about Eric trying to help out in a time of need.

magnatique 05-28-2003 06:29 PM

She was staying the night with a friend and the little girls lamp caught fire and caught the bed on fire they were sleeping on. The room was filled with smoke and the door was closed but she knew to crawl to the door got it open and woke the kids parents up. It got about 3 rooms of the house and the room she was in was a total loss. I was damn lucky.

Nick 05-28-2003 07:14 PM

I was always worried one of those drunk cliff divers in copper Canyon was going to die.. That sux!

Nice job trying to help Eric! You're a good man! :thumbsup

Selfless acts like that restore my faith in humanity.
You and the others acted when others would have just watched, not necessarily for not wanting to do anything, but because they freeze and are in awe. You were alert and tried to save someone. That's truly remarkable. R.I.P. to the man and may his girlfriend and family find strength. God Bless you too, Eric, not many people would have acted.

LeeNoga 05-28-2003 08:01 PM

:thumbsup MUCHO respect, I salute you:thumbsup

God Bless your efforts Eric, your a hero in my book :-)

Way to go Eric.

One time.... Must have been about seven years ago.... I was driving down the freeway when a mini van in front me blew out a tire and crossed over to the oncoming lane of traffic. The end result was a dozen cars going all over the place, one at me. To avoid the car I ended up crossing the freeway myself. I ended up go through a fence and landed in a ditch. The mini van hit a dump truck head on, and flipped over - and caught fire. There was four teenagers in the mini van; I helped to get two of tehm out.

The two in the front seat burned in front of me, and there was nothing anyone could do to get them.

After that I had problems driving for weeks, and couldn't sleep at night. Speak about feeling helpless.

That sounds about right bro. Same feeling. We dove down again and again, and the water was so dark you couldn't see shit. The cops even threw me a snorkel and a mask and it didn't help but maybe get me a little deeper. I found out later on that the depth of the water right there was 42 feet deep. Just fucking crazy.
