So will content writing survive as a profession when AI becomes sophisticated?

Hi Guys!

I wanted to ask whether content writing as a profession will survive when AI becomes really sophisticated.

I currently manage a team of writers and am a writer myself so hence the question. Just don't want to become helpless in future.

I think it is a short-sighted mistake for businesses to replace the human mind with AI tools. Until AGI is achieved, even the most sophisticated AI tools will not be able to provide an intelligent and thoughtful contextual response to a question, or a situation. But AGI is a gradual slope, and it could be achieved seemingly at any time.

That all being said, businesses have largely shifted to the bottom line, and short-sighted returns are far more important than long-term stability. Even if AGI isn't achieved soon, businesses are already replacing workers with AI.

So I think it's also a mistake if workers whose professions are threatened by the existence of AI do not diversify.

Can your clients simply input prompts into ChatGPT and get a response good enough to continue driving traffic and making money?

To answer your question, I don't think you'll become helpless, but if a sophisticated AI that can perform content writing does hit the market, if it's cheaper than you, it will replace you (even if that's bad for business.) You'll need to diversify or shift your target demographic to someone who wouldn't be served by AI.

We've seen it over the past two decades with outsourcing and cutting corners in a variety of professions, I don't see how this will be any different.

If you use the first output from chatgpt it is going to be lame and generic.

What you can do is have it write in the style of whatever slightly more obscure blogger you might know.

Then a quick manual edit will do the trick.

as a content writer I say it will. AI will do a lot of crap type work, but the written word will overlord the bots in the end of days, especially in porn.

AI may make content creation more accessible and efficient, but it cannot replace human writers entirely.

This is true. No matter how great your AI is, the best articles will still need that human touch, to personalize it, even if just a few tweaks here and there. Don't get me wrong, I love my AI but it will always need that personal touch if you want to achieve the best results.

Of course not. Pencil pushers have been replaced
