What's the nicest book you own?

Hey yo,

Of all the books you own, which has the nicest size, paper, feel, smell- whatever is it about it that you like the most? Can be any kind of book if it is your favourite book. Print books only, it has to take up physical space and, if you moved, you'd definitely check twice that it is packed and safe and sound!

:thumbsup

I've started collecting cookbooks, so other than the chef author of course, I like an impressive looking hardcover with nice art (or a high quality cover material etc).

Probably the big Bitcoin book and The Theory of Everything.

Not a book but about 100 original pages from a notary records from the 1600s from the town my family is originally from in Italy.

Picked it off EBay a few years ago for $500.

The book I have been searching for and found but cant have...

a 130 page Codice Fattorosi from the 1400 to 1600s written by several ancestors. I have a copy but the Catholic church stole the original book from my relatives in Italy in the 1970s. They have no legal claim to the book but the Bishop has it in his private library.

None of my family in Italy wants to sue the Bishop to get it back though.

Two of my favorite books are about the United States Marine Corps.

One is a GIANT book about the Untied States Marine Corps history. Every branch of the US military has one. It's huge and it's heavy.

The other is a regular sized book, older, which focuses on the early history of the Marine Corps. Very close friend of mine of bought it at a garage sale for a dollar, and wrote something inside the cover when she gave it to me as a gift. It's one of my favorite things.

Most of my other books are on the Kindle. Recently I've read books about the mafia in Cuba in the 1950s, Chernobyl, USS Princeton in World War II, and currently I am reading an autobiography by Greg Boyington who commanded a squadron of "misfit fighter pilots" in the Solomon Islands.
