Just buried a cache. This is why you should have a metal detector

People like me stashing things in the ground and away from all the fleabags. I like to make a sport of it just because life can be boring. If some hard working person finds this I will smile. Good for them. Modern day treasure hunting. I have lost one already. Better than getting robbed. Can you imagine the joy on someone’s face?

PVC pipe painted black. Next to the dog park. I will have fun walking past it.

911 what is your emergency?

Some dude just planted a pipe bomb under a tree at the dog park!

VikingMan 03-19-2025 03:42 PM

Good idea. Last thing I want is some Karen to find it. Or worse some passive aggressive twat. I’ll move it.

Yes these are my favorite coins. Will never sell them. The 2 oz Homer Simpson is one I still gotta get. I actually use 14 inch pvc so nobody is gonna think it is anything other than a cache but that other guy made me think of a good point, I wanna make sure I like the person who finds it, if they do. Dog park Karen’s probably would freak out and then spend the money on their university of Phoenix degree.

VikingMan 03-19-2025 06:46 PM

Machinegunkelly, Yes sir it is a kilo so makes my hand look tiny. 32 Troy oz or something like that. Perth mint is my fav. I used to put all my valuables in Bank of America safety deposit boxes until all the nightmares of things going missing. Never happened to me, but there’s lots of stories. Then I got burglarized 10 years ago. They had been watching my house and waited for me to leave to go to the store. I was gone for maybe 20 minutes and they had went through the entire house. They got about 20ki in computers and gold jewelry. And of course, I know so many people who have had guns stolen, and one guy I know had his entire gun safe stolen. Ding dong!

Why don't you put the treasure in a nice wooden box with purple velvet lining, write a cryptic treasure hunt clue, and then post each of them online on YouTube videos to get people to hunt them down?

Yeah, I think metals as a treasure for a marketing gimmick could really work in the next year or two when the average NPC wakes up and realizes their money is worthless.
I used to have half of my valuables stored at this Pacific Palisades Bank of America. This is just proof caching your valuables can be much more secure. Can you imagine had I left my metals in there?

Are you saying my degree is worthless?

EddyTheDog 03-19-2025 10:42 PM

I know a friend of mine who is a massive conspiracy theorist has a 100K stash in a bag out in the wilds somewhere - If I was a less honorable person, I would have got him pissed and stoned a long time ago!..

Hopefully, he’s got it in metals and not in currency because that currency is gonna be shit. And by the way, a good friendship is worth much more than 100 K. I’m sure you agree.

On the same hand, weak friends are a fucking anchor. Ditch losers or be dragged down with them.

That's why mine is bolted to the concrete foundation, from the inside.

Yeah he had a large safe he had not bolted down yet and was having work done to his house so had a bunch of construction workers over there. Then a few weeks later while he was at work, a team came and removed the entire safe out of his basement. So obviously the workers were suspects.

Only countries where I felt people weren’t ever gonna rob me were northern European countries like Denmark and also Middle East countries, including Israel. Where do you live?

Central Europe. But I felt the same in ME countries...Emirates or Saudi, didn't ever have to worry about having something stolen...even if I forgot to lock the doors. Had the same feeling in SE Asia, there basically every building has security downstairs, so that helps, too.
