Swedish Anti-Sex Work Law Enforcement Starting July 1st

We are writing to inform you of an important legal update that will affect campaigns targeting Sweden.

Beginning July 1st, 2024 , we will be enforcing compliance with the Swedish Anti-Sex Work Law (Sexköpslagen) . This legislation criminalizes the purchase of sexual content and services, including custom content and camming. This law applies not only to in-person services but also to digital transactions, such as custom OnlyFans clips and live cam sessions.

To remain compliant, our platform will no longer serve any adult campaigns promoting cam-related services to Swedish users. These restrictions are mandatory and will be strictly enforced..."

Does anyone know more about this? Will it affect Stripchat, Chaturbate, and other webcam companies?

It will affect all cam sites, advertisers and affiliates. You may want to explicitly block Sweden in your campaigns going forward and maybe the Swedish language. Keep an eye on your whitelabels if you have any and make sure they're blocked by July 1st.

This will magically bring money to the women that are doing that for a living.
I guess the Swedish feminists want to push "real life" swedish pimps.

I agree, but it's not surprising.

The adult industry has rarely fought back, so you can hardly expect the average Joe.

We (the industry) should have been doing more a decade or two decades ago.

For example, all porn studios, sponsors, affiliates giving 1% of their income to the Free Speech Coalition. Promoting the positive aspects of porn and masturbation etc.

As regards this Swedish anti-sex work law, all the cam companies could have been linking to a Swedish petition against it, and encouraging all their affiliates to do the same. Perhaps posting the email addresses of Swedish politicians so visitors could communicate their opposition.

But everybody is just concerned about their profit this week and getting ahead of everybody else.
