Quick AI Method For Dummies - AKA You're Doing It Wrong - AKA Keep It Simple Stupid
So most of us have seen the AI discussions where old schoolers either dismiss these insane tools outright or overthink what they are trying to do and get stuck doing nothing instead.
The overall lesson is simple, don't reinvent the wheel! If you wanted a blog in 2025 would you go develop an entire CMS from the ground up or smash that install WordPress button and use all of the available tools and security already provided? In most cases, the same holds true for any projects you want to complete with AI. I see someone (cough, cough) in every thread about AI telling us how it's too stupid to be secure or a real developer can do it better or some other nonsense. Even if all of this was true it does not matter. Let's say you want to build a retail store. Asking AI to help you develop the entire thing would be a tedious process that took ages but why would you do that? Millions of stores already exist on Shopify that has every kind of plugin imaginable ready to go. Instead of building the entire system you can have AI help you build some quick, local tools to take the data you want published and format it into a file you can import directly into Shopify. The same is true for WordPress, Amazon and almost everything else. I used Python for this but I'm an idiot, all I know is it works and fast. With the availability of API's you can launch your projects faster than ever if you stop trying to figure out how to build things that were made decades ago first. And for that special user here, no security issues. :upsidedow |
