Fucked company is so early 2000’s. The new thing is fucked redundancy.

Amazon says they’re just getting started with the 14,000 layoffs
Paramount cuts 1000

David Ellison lays people off with precision and almost sounds poetic.

“We want to be as open and direct as possible about the reasons behind these changes,” Ellison wrote. “In some areas, we are addressing redundancies that have emerged across the organization. In others, we are phasing out roles that are no longer aligned with our evolving priorities and the new structure designed to strengthen our focus on growth. Ultimately, these steps are necessary to position Paramount for long-term success.”

All down to advances with Ai.

Downside of the ai service rep that I have been interacting with for the past 6 months is that it is not able to be manipulated like a human. Of course, I knew this, but was holding out for this being a possibility in certain situations . I’ve been trying every trick in the book to see if there’s any sort of artificial empathy that will change the course of it’s decision/result. So far all I get in return are empathic responses that are on the surface.
The bot laughs and responds in various ways when it hears the exact same joke. Other times doesn’t laugh and is very stoic.
Also it’s nice not having to hear babies crying in the background while talking to remote customer service reps.

FuckedCompany? That's a blast from the past. I used to post snarky haiku on the board, and my handle was, rather obviously, Haiku Guy. Good times.

FYI a lot of layoffs lately are a product of ramping up hiring during COVID because it was expected that services would boom.

It didn't quite boom like they thought, now they have thousands of workers who don't really do much.

Trimming the fat.

In the late 1980s when I first got into computers the fear was that people were going to lose jobs. The logic was "why hire accountants when you have spreadsheets on a computer". Well, they still needed someone to input the information. Then they also needed people maintain the computers, write the software, wire up the office, etc etc etc.... It created more jobs than it ended.

With AI.... We won't need people.

Look at how this will impact us in the adult industry. You won't need model recruiters, models, photo editors, designers, marketing people.... All of this will be done automatically. Eventually someone will create a program run by artificial intelligence that will create the content, build websites for every niche, market it online using Facebook / Tiktok / Insta / X, and also interact with customers / fans and affiliates.

Verizon announced it’s going to layoff 13% of its workforce.

Haiku is too easy... I write sonnets now:

TO HER PERFECTION

I’ve seen perfection, coy, hiding its cheeks
In jeans or shorts or dresses, skirts, or tights.
And where you go perfection slyly peeks
Behind—the most enjoyable of sights.
In coming ages some will surely ask,
“What kind of bottom drives a man to verse?”
I answer to those critics, “It’s my task.
For I have seen none better, many worse.”
So with the gaze of time upon my wit,
I pray these lines are not inferior.
For unborn voyeurs I will now commit
To posterity, your posterior.
I dedicate this sonnet to your rump:
Perfection in a curved and happy hump.

You are truly a renaissance man.

Btw 1600 Kroger delivery drivers just got laid off by a douche bag AI bot.
