British content creator Bonnie Blue has been detained in Bali following a police raid that officials say uncovered alleged pornographic activity, a serious crime under Indonesia’s strict anti-pornography and morality laws.

The December 4 raid in Badung involved 17 men, including 14 Australians who were later released without charge. Police say the operation began after public reports that a rental property was being used to film explicit content. Officers seized camera gear, clothing, and other items believed to be linked to production.

Blue is still in custody, along with one Australian and two British men. Authorities say further questioning is underway as the investigation continues.

Her arrest comes during Bali’s busy Schoolies period, where she had been openly promoting meet-ups with recently graduated high school students and was seen traveling around the island in her branded vehicle, picking up groups of young men.

This incident adds to a growing list of controversies for Blue, who was previously banned from Australia over plans to film explicit content and was removed from OnlyFans earlier this year for violating its policies on extreme challenge content.

Indonesia’s anti-pornography laws are among the toughest in the region, with severe penalties for those found guilty of producing explicit material — including prison time, heavy fines, and deportation for foreigners.

From what I’ve read, the local authorities did "not" actually catch her in the act of producing pornographic content. The situation is similar to a hypothetical in criminal law: imagine someone researches online how to kill and dispose of a body, then goes out and purchases a gun, a shovel, acid, and a map. All of those steps strongly suggest intent, but that is still "legally different" from being caught in the act of committing a murder or disposing of a body.

In her case, she entered Bali on a tourist visa, purchased a local vehicle, branded it, publicly posted about her intention to film adult content, and, with a crew, appeared to gather participants for the shoot. But the key question is: "did the authorities actually catch her filming porn?"

Based on what is publicly known, it seems far easier for the local authorities to prove that her actions contradicted the stated purpose of her visa, tourism, than to prove she actually committed the more serious offense of producing pornography, which may never have occurred.

Was she simply lucky, or was this an intentionally well crafted and timed marketing stunt? Who knows, and honestly, who cares. The only one who truly benefits is Bonnie. The ones who perform in the adult industry, and are attempting to enter another country for legit reasons may be denied entry, and those who will try to recreate the same or similar insane PR stunt, may face more serious consequences.
