Where are you now? I’m in thinking end of 26 or early 27 it’s time to go.

I’m drawn to central or coastal South America or the Caribbean. I need very little. Good weed, good fishing solid internet and safe.

key factor: VISA rules.

some places let you stay a year, or for years. most don't.

what about your wife? lol

We moved to the UK a few years back, no regrets as of right now.

Kids are doing well in school, wife seems happy and the cost of living is significantly lower here than in the US when it comes to groceries, utilities, etc.

Public transport is also resoundingly better than in the US :eek2

I genuinely thought I was going to hate it over here but sprisingly, that hasnt been the case at all :thumbsup

One of the additional benefits we're enjoying is that you can fly to pretty much anywhere (except the US for some reason) super cheap too :)

If you would manage the cost of a place on the pacific coast of Costa Rica then I would highly recommend it. The people are lovely. I would start heading out in the next few months not wait for 2027. I would leave but I want to die in the PNW preferably on a mountain.

I love Costa Rica so hard. would have probs ended up living there a few years back were my ex not so adverse to learning Spanish

instead we ended up in Belize (my choice), which was amazing. before JA the best time of my life. wouldn't rec it now though, my little home 10 feet from the shore where the birds flocked every morning with a walk out gazebo onto the ocean was torn down to build a monster home for an expat

@Forest I'm thinking about this too. my mom is bizarrely happy up in the freezer of northern Canada ("whee it was minus 30 today and I had to chip off ice and bang the hood to refill the brake fluid"-what?) but she is very old and there will be a time when she can't do that stuff anymore

I really want her to come live with me here but she finds JA too hot and as much as peeps love her during her visits (they actually really do, dare anyone to not love my mom 'pon meeting her), she does not fully understand rural Patois, of which there are 10 diff variations at least

vicious circle thing, if she spent enough time here she'd stop feeling like a tourist, but it's too hot for her to feel comfortable here

she's tiny/slim, not a weight thing. just as peeps get older the ability to regulate temp diminishes. plus I think the care they show her as an 'elder' she sees as condescension

sometimes she's right, but the rest she doesn't recognize as respect as she's not familiar with it

so long term I'm looking into a place for her in Uruguay. she is very clear about not wanting to move into some condo when her home gets too big for her to manage and this is the most interested I've seen her in any idea I've proposed

have visited passing through in my 'jump in the car summer long tour through South America' a couple years back. super beautiful, bank machines work, nice people (but people are nice wherever if you approach openly), pedestrian-friendly

plus really good scores on the overall quality of life stuff

tl;dr Uruguay. have been scoping stuff there for momsie in Punta Del Este but still preliminary

Has Costa Rica improved in the last 10 years?

I lived there for 5 years and ended up hating it.

I’m looking at Belize right now. It’s super cheap. it has everything species of fish I love. It’s got jungles and Wild shit. Great river system. Solid banking and govt. gotta figure out food and other shit. Panama is a close second right now but more expensive.

I love the UK. Spent a lot of time there. Could never live there.

I saw animals there I never even saw in a zoo. what was funny were the massive iguanas (like 3 feet long) roaming about the yard that scared my cats. I'm familiar with those, I had one (Mandel, he was awesome), but never that big

the phosphorescent jelly fish tho? first time paddling across the lagoon at night and looked down was like am I high or are those things glowing? two things can be true at once!

one of the best years of my life, gorgeous natural spaces and made so many hard core friendships. have lived a lot of places and love where I am now but BZ will always hold a special place

even though my little piece of shore in Placencia got eaten by the monster homes I believe it can still be magical

Almost as cheap as a third world country but without all of the problems of a third world country + great food + great museums + great looking women.

And you can go anywhere in EU within 2 hours...

I love chile. Have been there many times both the coast and skiing. However all their fishing is deep sea and I get violent sea sick. 🤢 I need a place with near shore reef and back water fishing.

Italy has my heart. My grandparents came in thru Ellis island in ‘32 and ‘35. I’m there 3-4 times a year. Still have family in the same town for 400 years.
1. No real fishing of my type anywhere in Europe. 2. Political situation there sucks atm. 3. I’ve always had a hard time finding good weed there.

I can't think of a single reason anybody with any kind of connection to the adult industry would want to live in the UK. And the writing has been on the wall for at least a decade.

Ahh I had no idea about the deep sea fishing, you learn something new everyday.

Are you still in the business? If so, you're probably wise to think about local laws relating to the adult industry and the like before you move anywhere.
