What's the best low cost hosting right now?
 

I'm wanting to start my sites back up - I just run a few blogs, not any traffic right now and will most likely not be very big at the end of the day. I will only have wordpress blogs on it.. no tube sites and not much of any real content.

Since I am just getting started back up, I'd like to get something cheap - for now anyway.

Man just get VPS at OVH its like $6 a month and can run almost 5 blogs if the traffic is low.

Start with a proper host so you will save yourself problems later when you want to scale up, or just want to avoid problems in general. Mojohost all the way.

Over the last 15 years, I used HawkHost, which is cheap and reliable, and I have never had a single downtime!

i guess it depends how comfortable you are with linux and managing your own vps. or you would need shared hosting with a control panel.

Wow, this thread made me forget all about a huge amount of hosting types.

Looked at a bunch of the hosting companies provided here and most of them look sketchy as hell and I'd click away instantly if I was to land on them.

I even hate to say this because I know Sly is legit, but even Vacares doesn't show pricing anywhere, and some links 404. If I didn't know and already trust him I would click away from there too.

Huh? Nothing looks sketchy for me.

I checked my referral/commission link and it took me to their portal page that within one click, I could see pricing for three products. I did have to click one more time to see all of the different categories on the portal. That's a slight suggestion I'd make, just have the menu already be present and visible if possible.

I then went to their website without my referral link, and within one click (depending on the service) I could see pricing as well. I guess I didn't stumble across any 404s.

I was able to do this for MojoHost too (although the order page is a bit more granular/obvious about the add-on pricing).

I am happy with my dedicated server, Ryzen 9 3900x with 64gb ram and 1TB nvme and guess what it's cheaper then your MojoHost or Vacares VPS with 64gb ram, I host 14 personal sites, no issues at all and I pay only $35 for the server!
All the old boomers shill for Vacares or MojoHost but their are much much better and cheaper options for way better hardware!

Who offers managed hosting and dedicated boxes with sys admin expertise for that cheap and also has adult greenlit in the AUP? Legitimately curious.

I'm a website developer and I do manage my own sometimes, but I also purchase managed hosting when it's more profitable for me to do so.

Honestly, this is one of the worst recommendations I've ever read for any owner who takes their business seriously.

The entire point of outsourcing labor is to ensure that you aren't wasting your time doing something that someone more capable than you could do instead. It's business 101 and doing everything yourself is shortsighted.

If every CEO of a successful business did everything themselves or relied on AI to teach them how to do so, they wouldn't have time to actually make more money.

I will be the first one to admit the website needs work. There is pricing all over the website though, except the WordPress product which is mostly in beta and I usually only sell to current clients or friends.

I'll run a scan for 404 links, thanks, there shouldn't be any but obviously something slipped through.

I actually went with this one... Namecheap.com, they gave me a free month, and then it's cheap. Seems ok so far. As I said, I just need something very small and cheap for the time being.

I did take a look at all of these, and eventually I may get there, but until I get off the ground, cheap is what I can afford right now. ;)

Hostinger is the best overall low-cost hosting provider, DreamHost (best for monthly flexibility), and IONOS (best for customer support).

Can you DM me where you found that? I ran a scan and thought I fixed all of them.

I took a brief look at the TB script. Assuming it works similar to KVS and MB, it should be fine, though of course it will depend on how much volume you are running through it. Email [email protected] and reference this thread, I'll give you a free month for testing.

Yeah man I understand, I didn't mean to trash Vacares like I said, I know you are legit, just in mainstream the bar is super high, so there's just a bunch of things about this world of hosting I forgot all about and know is not shady, but some of the stuff makes it now feel apart of the shady stuff.

I'm used to pricing pages too, so it was a bit confusing not having a pricing url or anything, having to go directly into the thing to see the pricing.

Would avoid. I signed up for $75 paid every 3 months. Five years later, it's $300 for 3 months and every single billing cycle they are raising their prices. Now they've sent me an email saying they are moving their servers to Germany (from Chicago) for better performance.
