Ok what do I do, some asshole has my UIN up for sale, and I cannot access my acct.

my iCQ nbr is:

111472 [Yes, low 6 nbrs].....

Any ideas on how to get it back?

Very Funny, I use ICQ every day, and my account still shows my info, he just changed the password and removed my email so I cannot get the password to it..

and he stuck a for sale statement in it....

and i dont think it's because of weak password, there's some kind of bug/security hole because i know webmasters that lost their icqs even with crazy passwords. Probably he can take it back anytime :/

leenoga i would check your pc for viruses , trojans and keyloggers just to make sure thats not the way he got your password

Contact him someone and see what he is charging....I am not going to open another iCQ acct just so I can ICQ this asshole.

ICQ only allows 8 character passwords, that's quite breakable with a small cluster and some time.

Some press about that might encourage AOL to fix that little problem. I mean, lots of people do biz on AOL chat software (yeah, I know. why?), it can't be seen to have security flaws.

I'm not about to organize that, but if someone else does I'll donate a high PR link to it.

I lost my pw, support was useless, they even have a help page, "help me with password retrieval" is an option but it comes back with the answer "we do not help anyone with password retrieval, make a new account."
