what car would you get if wanted to spend a maximum of $50,000 (not including tax, liscencing, etc.)

You don't want them with the entry engines.....I'm European so
they might be quite different in the States but $50K is going to
get you further than an entry level A4. The mother of all luxury
cars for me is an S8 (A8 with a quattro engine and 4WD).

I think they now have a model coming out with a V12 engine.
I love how comfortable they drive....spacious, ergonomic design
of all the controls, excellent seats, glued to the road....especially
if you regularly have to travel a few miles....

Get a R33 then - they're around $50,000 and they've saved you all the import hassle :thumbsup

Or learn Japanese and get a second hand R34 from the source - I still reckon you could do it for $50k. Motorex had to import several for crash testing and only sell new R34's, which is why their prices are high...
