Because he broke the law perhaps? That's generally the reason for a prosecution.

I think his motives probably weren't truly criminal but I don't have much pity for people that fuck with someone else's website, no matter who owns the site. The guy should be locked up just for being stupid.

Ah well, then, they should change the laws people are breaking to reflect that. For now, what's illegal is still illegal and you get punished for that.

Many people probably believe that hacking porn sites should be legal too because porn sites are evil and anti-Christian.

If he called up the government and told them about it, that is the only reason he was prosecuted.

They could care less about the website being hacked.

fed prosecutors work is, the more you prosecute the quicker you get the promotion.

The hell if it's wothwhile or if the person is even guilty.
