I'm bored so here's a piece of nearly impossible trivia
Which character in which book said this:
Women! If they didn't screw there'd be a bounty on 'em. Truly, a wise statement. The book is by a very popular author of thrillers and espionage books, many revolving around aviation. Just for the hell of it, I'll PayPal $5 to the first person to correctly answer the question. Just don't cheat, that takes all the fun out of it. SpaceAce |
Im guessing it could be a book by agatha christie?
|
google failed me :(
|
Espionage.. aviation.. hmm.
Dale Brown? |

I'll be more specific: the book is only about 15 years old and at least one of this guy's books was made into a movie starring Danny Glover. SpaceAce |

I said it was nearly impossible :) SpaceAce |

Ok.. well my last guess is.. it sounds like something one of Clancy's characters might say. Maybe John Kelley/Mr. Clark, or Jack Ryan?
If it was Clark, I'd have to take a shot in the dark at Without Remorse. |

Then why weren't you playing along on Colins book thread?
And what are you reading now? |
Then it has to be Jake Grafton that said it.

Wasn't it Toad?
I like Clancy better than Coonts. |
Was Toad Tarkington in Minotaur?
|
Quote:
And I agree. |
Very good KimmyKim and PersianKitty :thumbsup It was Toad Tarkington, expressing some consternation in his dealings with Rita Moravia :)
Hm, you two answered at the same time (3:20). Who wants the $5 :) SpaceAce |

I can't stand not reading. Now that its hot weather here I disappear every afternoon I can for an hour in my pool, floating around reading a book. Of course I also end up staying up half the night engrossed in them as well, after I put the computer down... I read a kids book today called Holes -- the one they based the movie on, and damn was it good... I'm also reading The Power of One, and I picked up The Sexual Life of Catherine M at the airport this week. |

I read one of the Netforce books and then when I saw the previews for The Sum of All Fears, I decided to read the book (which was so much better than the movie). After I read it, I realized it was part of a huge series. I've read almost all of Jack Ryan series completely out of order. I still have Red Storm Rising, Clear and Present Danger and the last 80 pages of Hunt For Red October. I've also read Without Remorse (fucked up book), Rainbow Six and a few of the Netforce and Power Plays books. I can't decide if I like Clancy or Arthur C Clarke better. |

I've been considering reading Holes, myself. I saw it at the bookstore recently when I picked up "Amarillo Slim in a World Full of Fat People". SpaceAce |

Come to think of it, I may have read Executive Orders first too. |
