LOL, $5 it is. I already know the answer so it doesn't matter that much to me :) I like to answer trivia questions and once in a while I like to ask one.

I am a reading machine. I own easily 3,000+ books of which maybe 500-1,000 are actually in my house right now. The book this quote is from I have read three times. I've read all nine books in the Wheel of Time series 3 or more times each, I've read "It" by Stephen King two times, Stranger in a Strange land several times and so on.

I'm so much a reader that I read during commercials on TV, while I am eating, during loading screens on video games and pretyt much any time I have a few seconds.

I agree. I've been reading The Hunt For Red October for the last hour. Good book :)

I used to devour books. Way back from when I was a teenager, if I really got into a book, I'd have it read in a night. Now I buy books by my favorite authors and they sit. I end up reading them piecemeal while waiting at appts. and the like. I'm looking forward to a couple of camping vacations (away from the pc) this summer. I'll get to catch up on my reading.

I can't stand not reading. Now that its hot weather here I disappear every afternoon I can for an hour in my pool, floating around reading a book.

Of course I also end up staying up half the night engrossed in them as well, after I put the computer down...

I read a kids book today called Holes -- the one they based the movie on, and damn was it good...

I'm also reading The Power of One, and I picked up The Sexual Life of Catherine M at the airport this week.

I got into Tom Clancy last spring. I was working weekends, and they were slow as hell. On top of that, I had no internet for a month and me and my girlfriend had split up for three month. Needless to say, I had a lot of spare time on my hands.

I read one of the Netforce books and then when I saw the previews for The Sum of All Fears, I decided to read the book (which was so much better than the movie). After I read it, I realized it was part of a huge series. I've read almost all of Jack Ryan series completely out of order. I still have Red Storm Rising, Clear and Present Danger and the last 80 pages of Hunt For Red October.

I've also read Without Remorse (fucked up book), Rainbow Six and a few of the Netforce and Power Plays books.

I can't decide if I like Clancy or Arthur C Clarke better.

I'm horrible like that too. I read The Firm from start to finish in one night about 6 years ago. I've done the same for several Arthur C Clarke books. It'll be like 3 am and I'll tell myself "next chapter, i'll put it down" and then it'll change to "ok, on page 400, i'll put it down", and i never end up putting it down.

I've been considering reading Holes, myself. I saw it at the bookstore recently when I picked up "Amarillo Slim in a World Full of Fat People".

I love that one. I had read The Bear and The Dragon before I read Debt of Honor, so I knew how it ended, but I was still amazed. It's a fucked up ending.

Come to think of it, I may have read Executive Orders first too.

Arthur C. Clarke's "The Star" is the second best science fiction short story of all time in my opinion. I also loved 2001: A Space Odyssey.
