My new EOS 10D was supposed to get here today. FedEx said yesterday it was at the london airport, and had me fax in a form. All was well, and the tracking looked like it had cleared.

So, of course, I got up early this morning to wait for the thing, since I really don't want to miss it. Plus, it would be nice to start using it at my shoot today, right?

Well, it's been held up by customs. Could ship tomorrow, but who the hell knows. Damn british bureaucracy.

I'm waiting for my Sony DSC-F717, but I don't shoot content, it's just for fun.

The waiting is the hardest part.

Would have been the perfect day to play with it, too. The model today is a photography buff, so she would have put up with me dicking around with my new toy.

Damnit, my girlfriend left the country over a week ago and I feel I deserve a new toy. :( (Simple mind, it's before noon.)

I buy so many "toys" online now and I always hate waiting for them. I would buy from retail shops, but the prices online are waaay better.

I hope it's just a random "too much paperwork today" delay or something. They cleared it to the FedEx holding cage, so it isn't an import control thing. They need to clear my C-3 form, so I don't have to pay duty on personal property brought into the UK. I really don't want to end up paying tax and duty on this thing...

Good luck, the Fedex guy will probably show up and be "right, that will be 75 pounds for duty fees please" :1orglaugh

VAT alone will be about £200. Not sure how much duty could be on top of that. I do know that FedEx just delivers and bills you for the duty, though...
