How to back up Outlook email messages?

I badly need to reformat by machine.
Anyone know how I can back up my email messages?

I use Outlook Express & Win98SE

Backing a copy of my website passwords would be great also. (The ones that you use on .htaccess protected websites)

Thanks

in outlook
file -> import and export

then select export as file

make sure you select the .pst option

also make sure you start at the top of the tree to get all the folders

as for passwords not sure.... i use roboform which is easy to transport passwords

In the future use IMAP, all of your email remains on the server instead of as a local copy on your harddrive. See the same mailbox no matter where you set it up, at home at the office or temporarily at a friends house.

Just make sure you server doesnt go down or die :)

just select all the messages and drag them to to where you want to store them.

Then just drag them back when you're ready

Do it all the time.

Copy everything in this folder:

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

the .pst folder has all your e-mails, and the others your settings and such.
