or you can go by what the word originally came from and not what mainstream america caught up to a years later and slapped a definition on.

When you look at diamonds you get that light reflection in your eyes, thats bling...

So bling became the reference to jewelry..
platinum, diamonds, gold....


I don't give a shit what oxford dictionary says, because I've been saying bling for about 4 years, and thats what it came from.

According to their description in this article, bling bling is not only iced out diamonds and jewelry, but flashy cars, and what is inferred as anything flashy that flaunts wealth.... WHich I guess one can construe it to be wads of cash in your hand? Maybe that's stretching it... Either way, it looks as if it isnt too definitive (that is, unless someone can post the actual true, concrete definition from the Oxford English Dictionary)
