I wouldnt worry about cwebb all that much because in his and his teamates minds they still won the championship.

Hahaha, 3peat. Yeah right. They might as well let the Lakers take a vacation during the regular season and just let them play against the winners in the championships.

Going up against the Lakers is now like fighting Mike Tyson in Mike Tyson's Punchout.

Anyway the kings will be good this season. I am not much of a malone fan though. I hope he rides the pines.

While he certainly is not the best PF out there, he certainly is one of the top 7-8 PFs and he definately is better then any PF we have had in years, maybe ever.. Sorry Horry

I agree with you, I am just saying that I don't like watching him play. It is true that he is one of the better PF's of all times, I won't deny that. However, he is past his prime, and will be sharing the court with Shaq. That is goiing to turn the lakers into an extremely borng offense to watch. They will pound the ball in the paint all day to either shaq or the mailmain and bring the game to a crawl.

Trust me malone, shaq, and kobe all in the line up at the same time = bad news for the lakers. Not enough shots to go around, plus it makes them a super stagnent offense.

Its based on movement and cutting.. so if you think it suddenly is going to become a slow it down, dump it low, a la San Antonio, man you got a huge suprise waiting for you..

And dont worry about shots.. Both Shaq and Kobe are more then willing and able passers, matter of fact Kobe led the team in assists.

I have seen the Triangle work. I have watched the lakers run it, and I have watched Chicago Run it. You know what Chicago and LA both had in common?? Power Forwards who didn't demand much of the ball, but could defend, rebound, and hit outside shots. Horry for the lakers, and Grant for the Bulls.

Just not convinced that will work you when you got malone who WILL demand the ball. That coupled with the fact that Malone doesn't have the range of Horry. That means teams can lay off malone when he is on the outside and double shaq with another big man.

The lakers offense will be stagnant with malone in the line up.

Man you dont get it...

The Lakers are not in need of a guy that can shoot 3 pointers like Horry, who didnt have ANY range OTHER then 3 pointers.

The Lakers need a PF that can hit the 15-18 ft jumper, which is exactly what Ho Grant did for Chicago and LA.

A guy who can consistently hit that mid-range shot (Malone) will draw attention (double and triple teams) away from Shaq.

And while Malone may be past his prime, you act like playing with Shaq is a curse. In reality the chance to play with Shaq may have just added 2-3 years to Malones career.

No I get it, I am just not sure I buy it. I have never been a huge malone fan, and I have kind of a wait and see attitude about it. I don't know if he is ready to be a role player, than again he might.

i could be wrong but when i hear of all this talent going to LA I get visions of Portland in my head. A team with a lot of stars that could never pull it all together.

There is a big difference my friend with those other star studded teams.. (Portland, Sactown)

1. Alot of the talent was over-paid for, soley to keep them from going to division rivals

2. The players on these teams are there simply for the $$$


Think about this...

The Lakers got Malone AND Payton for less then Portland picked up Sabonis last year.

These guys want to win at all costs.. and with that substantial of a paycut I would say they set their egos aside as well.

P.S... Dont forget the Zen Master himself... Something none of those other teams had.. A competent coach
