Have you seen the latest Thundercats comic series entitled "Thundercats: The Return" ???

It's wicked, more adult/mature....Lion-O is in a slave pen rousing rebels to kill every enslaver they meet, the art is great the story is even better.

Sarah_Jayne 07-17-2003 02:29 AM

I should have known I was going to be 'different' when I liked the band girl rival band - The Misfits better.

Greg B 07-17-2003 05:22 AM

Whippersnappers!!!

80s cartoons SUCKED!!! Almost ruined the industry! Why in MY day we had CARTOONS!!!

None of them 'parental approved' cartoons neither.

Shows like " Jonny Quest " and " Space Ghost " and " The Herculoids ". Shows where villains got blasted to friggin' atoms and ethnic stereotypes abounded.

Why, them psychiatrists and their ' we know what's best for entertainment ' foolishness is ruin' our country!!!

Even good ol' 'Asterix The Gaul' was banned in the U.S. because he drank wine! A great cartoon like that?

Why if it wuddn't for Ralph Bakshi, John Kricfalusi and your's truly, we'd be watchin' them namby-pamby sissyfied cartoons again!

Thundarr the Barbarian work for ya? How about some more funny 'toons like Grape Ape, Mighty Mouse, or Mr.Peabody (found on the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show)?

Let's really talk old 'toons. Betty Boop kicked ASS back in the day. Looney Tunes when it was actually played on the big screen was hilarious.

And does anyone remember the first name for Walt's mouse?

Sarah_Jayne 07-17-2003 07:50 AM

mortimer I believe ;)

Rocky and Bullwinkle could kick his ass too

Ding ding ding! We have a winner. You have won absolutely nothing, but you get to feel good about yourself all day. :glugglug

valley hina 07-17-2003 12:24 PM

i also have some of the thundercats on dvd for sale!!

Greg B 07-17-2003 12:49 PM

Transformers????

It had a kick-ass theme song. So did 'Mighty Orbots'. Coolest thing about Transformers was the planet 'Char'. It looked cool as fuck but I forgot who lived on 'Char'.

Thundarr the Barbarian? Man that was rotten! Only thing cool in the 80s was Thundercats and only the opening credits theme song.

You wanna see 'cool' get an episode of Jonny Quest where this big spider eye robot invaded this military compound. Or the episode where this dude had his own pet pteradactyl. Vicious shit!

Roger Ramjet from the 60s was funnier than shit and of course Bullwinkle, Mr. Peabody, Dudley Doright and of course Underdog.

But still, Space Ghost ( the original ) and Herculoids, Jonny Quest had the baddest assed theme songs.

On-top 07-17-2003 01:05 PM

I all kinds of Transformers and GI Joes. I used to watch those cartoons before school everyday. But my sister had to watch Jem & the Holograms...so I'd sit through that, then I'd make her watch GI Joe.

Sometimes we'd compramise and just watch Scooby Doo.... :winkwink:

But I used to watch a lot of cartoons I guess:

Transformers
He-Man
GI Joe
Scooby Doo
Woody Woodpecker
Chilly Willy the Penguin
Wally Walrus
Andy Panda
Tom & Jerry
Tom Slick/Super Chicken
Droopy Dog
Road Runner and Coyote

It was fun being a kid...

valley hina 07-18-2003 11:22 AM

anyone interested?????????

DonnelKobe 07-18-2003 12:21 PM

When you find yourself in danger
when you're threatened by a stranger
when it looks like you will take a licken'
*puck-puck puck-puck*

DonnelKobe 07-18-2003 12:29 PM

SilverHawks
Thundercats
SuperFriends
Captain N
Kid Video
The Fraggles
Bionic 6
Exo-Squad
Captain America (throws his mighty shield)
Spiderman
Spiderman and Friends (Firestar baby!)
Mask
Transformers
and GI JOE (only show with an asian that i could look up to)

(( and I loved the episode where they became kids and when they got back to normal Lady J had no bottoms... SCANDALOUS))

and when cartoons ended I'd watch the Fall Guy and the Greatest American Hero...

I was a latch-key kid...

I was down with Thundercats, He-Man (Masters of the Universe), M.A.S.K., and Dino Riders

But how can you forget:
The Smurfs... The Care Bears... Gumby (if he counts)... Alvin and the Chipmunks... Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers... Duck Tales... Inspector Gadget... The Real Ghostbusters...

The list goes on... too many cartoons

Jamdin 07-18-2003 12:49 PM

I loved the Filmation cartoons such as Zorro, Lone Ranger, Batman, Tarzan, Isis, Super Seven and Shazam! I loved the Super Friends and Thundarr the Barbarian. While I like the new Justice League, I'm not sure that I'm going to like the new Teen Titans (artwork just looks odd). I am enjoying FOX's Static Shock on Saturday mornings lately.

DonnelKobe 07-18-2003 12:54 PM

Alrighty.. I was trying to not be long-winded but:

Tale-Spin
George of the Jungle
Bucky O'Hare
Super Mario Bros. Super Show
The Alf Cartoon
the snorks
camp candy
the exo-squad
Fantastic Max
Hulk
Hulk Hogan's Rock-n-Roll Wrestling
Teen Wolf
Shirt Tales
Tazmania

and I know there were more, but that's all i can remember now..

we should play "guess that 80's cartoon theme song"

DonnelKobe 07-18-2003 12:55 PM

oh yeah... Groovy Ghoulies

JDog 07-18-2003 01:02 PM
