Why don't you do what the sponsors do and BUY advertising? What a thought that is!

Ever thought it might be because the sponsors are making so much money they have forced up the price of advertising beyond our budgets.

the adult Internet business is a one BILLION dollar a year industry. i guarantee you less than 1%, much less than 1%, shakes down to the people who produce the content the whole biz is based on. something really wrong with that picture.

i know what it is but not much anybody can do about it.

if charly can't afford a 2.5k banner spot on GFY or Oprano, it isn't an indictment of charly as a content producer or businessman, it's an indictment of the industry.

Its not a question of "can he afford it" its about (is it worth it) and the answer is NO fucking way!!!!!!!
Its worth it for just about any other branch in this business BUT providers....ppl steal to much simple as that.
so far i have a list of 21 GFY members that have stolen content from us and 1 that have paid from a fraudelent account.

2.5K wont be made back from a top banner here (for content stores) and you dont brand your name with a 2.5k add you do that with 15-30 different cheeper spots.
Give us a deal that makes it worth while or prove to us that its worth it and we will stay up there for ever!

Loch is 100% correct. I have paid to have my banner up on other boards and it wasn't worth it.

From ppl that have tried and past experience with similar adds.
Not to mention most ppl´s branch of work and moral on GFY.

Content marketing is very difficult compared to most other branch of this industry, the marketing is best handled the same way.
Believe it or not most of our clients have never posted on a webmasters board in their lives.
We do get business from boards yes, but my god it poor compared to most any other form of marketing.

We will launch a top banner in here, but then again we are expanding our site into 4 sites providing complete solutions for webmasters which will give us a MUCH wider audience.

ive been in contact with them for quite some time now and actually building a marketing plan "to fit our business" that should hold water for ATLEAST 6 months.
And not just fit the content business, but MY company.

Not just throwing them a banner and 2.5k in good faith.
faith is good and all, but not if i come out with a negative number which everything tells me i do.

nobody cares about content providers.


u can't steal web hosting, u can't really steal web design without getting caught, can't steal top producing traffic affiliates, can't steal programming easily - but content? easy to steal and easy to get away with it.

maybe the new VISA policies will help content producers - seems to be from all the new people hitting me up.

Watch as the industry moves from a signup based model to a retention based model, the role of the content provider will improve, people will need to keep there customers satisfied and not just provide the "same old same old"...
