WHAT DO YOU THINK? - 50 posts before you can start a thread?

Too many 1 post scammers posting email lists or spam software, with 50 min posts that might just stop.

The only other post you get to make is a HELLO thread which is premade by gfy.

Good or bad idea?

Ice 07-18-2003 12:53 PM

good idea or at least confirm users info before they can post.... so people that use [email protected] as a email addy can't post. :2 cents:

[illnet]-Romeo 07-18-2003 12:56 PM

what you mean you're still not looking to by email lists! j/k

Agreed 50 is a good # to keep out the same idiots that try to sell bunk email lists, and if they really are honest noobs then fuck em. After all this place isn't called GFY for nothing :Graucho

funkmaster 07-18-2003 12:58 PM

... for an extra $5 I will start threads for newbies !

pauliewalnutz 07-18-2003 01:01 PM

I think if someone spams garbage they should be banned bu tmore importantly their information when signing up should be screened better so they can actually be barred.

IntenseCash 07-18-2003 01:05 PM

I think its a very good idea! It will keep a lot of spammers out of here. Come on Lens! do it do it! :winkwink:

Kapitan Ivanov 07-18-2003 01:06 PM

With people like me around... you should make it something more like 1000...:thumbsup

benthompson 07-18-2003 01:07 PM

well, this is a free board and I think anybody should be able to send a thread anytime..

BluMedia 07-18-2003 01:10 PM

I think 100 would be good =)

fun2cboys 07-18-2003 01:26 PM

:thefinger :Kissmy

Velmu 07-18-2003 01:46 PM

I think better solution would be that one has to be registered for a month or two before starting a thread.

delia 07-18-2003 01:50 PM

Come on guys, don't you know? The more regulations a board has, the more it becomes boring? And besides, why not let the admins and the moderators to take care of this.

Pornwolf 07-18-2003 01:50 PM

I say make it 100 posts. Although that wouldn't stop the Lawrence Conners and the Luc's of the world from posting idiocy.:BangBang:

01SCdZ06 07-18-2003 01:52 PM

On the flip side you would have determined spammers flooding the board with bullshit posts just to hit 50.

crockett 07-18-2003 01:54 PM

and how would that make the board any better... not everyone in the adult industry spams this board and has 5,000 posts...

I see more useless posts started by members with high post counts than with less... Just acept it, that's how gfy works...

maybe it would be better if there were more mods and if they moved spam posts to a spam area.

skrog 07-18-2003 01:54 PM

Fuck me

Totally agree with that! if you don't like a thread, simply click "back" and choose to read something else! how simple is that huh!

jasonir 07-18-2003 03:36 PM

I also think 100 would be good.

KingK7 07-18-2003 03:38 PM

I think you shouldnt be allowed to start a new thread if you have a SWOIT sig.

Porn2Rock 07-18-2003 03:41 PM

Uh oh .. better get my post count up so I can start spamming!

its free to use - but not free to run
and there are ppl paying BIG dollars to have their ads on this board
in all fairness to those ppl - there SHOULD be a threashold for starting threads because too many ppl sign up just to spam.

BTW Is there a mod for this on the vbulletin system or would they have to write it?

Mr. Jim 07-18-2003 04:07 PM

I bet most people who made a comment here started a thread before 50.....at the time people didnt think you rated either

The point of this place is that almost anything goes...we start making restrictions where will it end........
