Sportbike riders

A lot of people have posted pics of their sport bikes so I guess a shitload of GFY'ers ride so I gotta ask: why the fuck does every single Friday and Saturday night ride turn into a high speed police chase?

Uh, you know, no specific reason for the question. Totally like rhetorical.

well my R1 can smoothly handel around 180-195 depends on wind and shit..... and the helicopter can only fly around 160 knots.... so it's rather fun to go get in a chase.... not through neighborhoods or anything.... but 1am on th freeway.... catch me if you can

I hear it's an acutually disorder... and an addiction.. for adrenlne .... some psyc's will tell you it's 10x worse than the addiction for heroine..... why to people race planes.. or boats.... or jump dirt bikes... for personal high...

I'm not saying I get caught or speed or do anything at all illegal or anything but every damn Saturday I go on a group ride it ends in us getting lit up and scattering.

since your working with CJ I'll guess that your in Hotlanta...right?

I think the sportbike culture of where you live depends a lot on the environment.

where I live there are nice twisty country roads with no traffic or cops very close by....so you can get your kicks and thrills easily

in a big city like hotlanta the riders feel cramped and the only place to get some adrenaline is to speed on the highway

then again ever since the F&F movies and biker boyz upping the popularity of sport bikes more and more punk kids are buying bikes.

there used to always be a sunday group ride in my area...now they have a stunting practice session instead :( squids

Actually I'm out in Arizona.

The funny thing is when we ride on the freeways and shit: not a cop in sight. I've been in a group of two dozen riders spread out doing a ton and a half and not a single problem.

Cruising in town to a meet or something we get lit up like 80% or the time. It's weird.

ahhhh I tottaly mis read what you said the first time.. LOL... sorry man..... yeah I hear you..... well I guess it's good fun for all involved.... but nothing any police force has can hang wth an experienced rider.... here they pretty much stop giving chase in town..... but we are profiled here..... when they do catch you and give you your ticket.... your booked.. and photo'd and put into a "gang" file... but's it for cyclist that run... so the cop just remebers you and your bike...cause theres only like 20 of us here in town that do run for fun..... so they will get you...... it's good to change cowlings every month or so...... well sometimes I do sooner if I crash.... which unfortunalty with bikes it's not if it's when..... if I can count the times I have been laid out laid the bike high sided..... you name it.... bikes are dangerous .... so please every one ride safe and wear gear.... gear is the shit.... Joe Rocket speedmaster one piece here.... saved me many times at the LVM speedway..... theres a difference in picking up bike parts rather than your skin

i hear ya....the cops don't usually bother on the highway or out in the open...

i passed a cop recently on a long straight doing a leisurely buck thirty....as i passed i saw him tap his brakes but he kept going.

but in town they know we can't escape as easily....
