Zooted ripped off for more than $30,000 by fraudulent webmasters

http://www.theadultpress.com/news.php?show=27

They confirmed it and THAT is why they are late with their payments.

I'm looking on the bright side of this one. At least I'm still going to get PAID unlike a lot of other programs who get hit with fees and unexpected financial troubles.

Sly_RJ 07-28-2003 11:08 AM

Do sponsors press charges against webmaster fraud? If not, it's time to start.

Daymare 07-28-2003 11:11 AM

Agreed, these (usually) foreign webmasters just rack up fake credit cards in hopes of getting paid. Usually by the time it gets found out, the check is already cleared and the money is gone. So zooted had to pay for it.

My sympathies to them for still surviving a hit like that considering they aren't that huge. I know they aren't small either, but still.

sextoyking 07-28-2003 11:12 AM

Hi,

All I can say is I have known Jonas around the boards for many years. I am sure he will get all this worked out.

peace

Todd

Sly_RJ 07-28-2003 11:15 AM

Going after people in other countries has to be a complete bitch, and probably not even worth the effort. I'm surprised more sponsors haven't instituted policies where they only accept invited or "approved" foreign webmasters.

Daymare 07-28-2003 11:18 AM

I know of a couple of programs that at first only allowed North American webmaster to signup. I'd do the same thing especially since new programs are easy targets for fraud.

Theo 07-28-2003 11:18 AM

damn, zooted rules, sad to hear such news.

$30k is a significant of signups,if it's confirmed scam they should pass their contact info to everyone.

detoxed 07-28-2003 11:20 AM

Yeah for $30k fuck the law, its worth going international on their ass.

Daymare 07-28-2003 11:22 AM

I use their program myself and emailed them not too long ago asking about payouts. I've known about this little tidbit for a little while and thought it's in people's best interest to know that they aren't trying to rip anyone off, but were infact that ones being ripped off.

I was going to ask Serge to get in contact with Jonas since he's known him on the Good Bad Ugly for years and he's rated Good as Gold (that's how I became aware of them in the first place 2+ years ago).

sextoyking 07-28-2003 11:22 AM

yep Soul,

Good program over there and bad things do happen to good people sometimes.

We have people who check all the time for orders that come from affiliates. 99% of the time they are all fine, but that 1%, that 1 webmaster who signs up and starts sending big orders / sales with only 10 clicks, 100 clicks, etc sucks...

ah well, just watch those sales closely..

sextoyking 07-28-2003 11:24 AM

Yep Jeff (daymare)

Jonas is a good guy and I am sure Serge will take his hat off for him also..

Theo 07-28-2003 11:32 AM

my overall ratio this year with zooted is 1:95 unique 1st page with highly targetted traffic. (acording to statsremote)

It ***** every major per signup sponsor having gay paysites by far. When they'll catch up on payments and the word about such ratios goes out they'll be everywhere.

Daymare 07-28-2003 11:43 AM

LOL, Lars definitely got his money's worth. He's fucking EVERYWHERE on gfy now.

BradShaw 07-28-2003 12:14 PM

I would imagine there is more to the story. If $30k can put a program 12 weeks behind, you have to wonder about their cash flow in the first place.

Daymare 07-28-2003 01:37 PM

Yeah but like I said, I know they aren't huge, and I don't think they're that small, but $30,000 is a shitload of money.

exactly 30k should be nothing

Gemini 07-28-2003 01:58 PM

Jonas has the guts where most sponsors would fold and come back as some "NEW" sponsor. They may be abit behind but they will come out of it. :D

Great news.

Really good to hear. I have been waiting for those for some time. Hopefully get it in next couple of days.

Daymare 07-29-2003 10:44 AM

Well HOLY shit. I just checked the mail today and I got my check too.

:thumbsup :thumbsup zooted.

orig.jonas 07-29-2003 12:14 PM

once again, thanks to everyone coming here and supporting us. right now we are in the process of sending out periods 148 and 149 will be working on periods 150 - 151 next week. once again, we are doing our best to get all caught up.

I have stated before, we had money held by an international processor and unexpected mastercard fine. And yes, we were ripped off bigtime by a bunch of fuckin Canadian Assholes running an amazing card scam. the number is probably much higher then the $30k i mentioned before, between, credits, chargebacks, and checks cashed by webmasters.

Once again, we are sending out checks as money comes in. OUr number 1 objective is to pay webmasters. there have been plenty of reputable companies that fell behind for one reason or another and caught up and are doing just fine. All we ask is for continued support. We are not going anywhere and continue to do business as usual. our chargebacks are way below the 1% level that everyone is afraid of, we have gotten rid of all webmaster fraud and we are doing what we can to go forward.

I am sorry for the delay in getting to this board. I had no idea someone posted here. i was told via email. so that is why i am posting now. I am stepping out for a meeting with someone, but when i get back i will check the board to see what transpired.

thanks again for all the support.

Gemini 07-29-2003 02:27 PM

Jonas, you are one of the few sponsors that we trust implicitely. Your emails a long time back offering help with something that didn't even deal with your own company said an awful lot. Sorry to see that you were taken advantage of and hopefully the scum pays in more ways than one for doing it!

Money late is better than no money at all!! ;-)

My affiliate program got stung by an asshole from Bulgaria. Fortunately, I only lost $50.00 to HIM before catching it. However, the chargebacks are still ROLLING in. I have seriously considered allowing only US and Canadian webmasters to participate in my affiliate program.

FlyingIguana 07-29-2003 02:45 PM

and foreign webmasters wonder why they're not allowed to sign up for a lot of programs...

Need someone in Canada to deal with these guys? :)

Wildman 07-29-2003 06:28 PM

Zooted Rules! Hope you guys get some of that money back :thumbsup

VirtuMike 07-29-2003 06:52 PM

There was a time we used to send all of our gay traffic to Zooted and did really well with it. Jonas is a good person and it's sad to see when a good webmaster gets ripped off.

I think it may be time to have some sort of system that would track webmaster fraud levels by many factors including bank account numbers. Actually this is a fucking brilliant idea and I will run it past Ron C. Damn I'm a friggin GENIUS!

Good luck with the speedy recovery my friends at Zooted.

Daymare 07-29-2003 08:52 PM

Cool, nice to see you posted Jonas. You have icq? Mine is 912570, hit me up.

prostock 07-29-2003 09:43 PM

well to some here may think that 30k isnt shit , but it is , you dont know al they had going out and there input to there sites ,
so ya it can make a big hit ,
i know of one webmasters program here that al you know that is a very very large player and they get over 45k pics a month ,
SORRY NOT SAY WHO THEY ARE and even they have had to cutt back , things right now are really fucked up for alot of webmasters programes we all know this ,

for zooted to fuck any one i realyl think that wil never happen .
jones and emial are great people i know them both and i sell to them as well , they will get all this matters takin care of .
it is sad that some people have to couse this matter to hurt so many .
my partner lost over 600 members over the globill shit , and just now got all that shit worked out .

Zooted isnt running or hidding from people you can cal them and i will almost bet they will be at the show that is there town area , so just go easy and all will be paid i am sure of that
:2 cents:
