Acacia on D$ Show - Good idea or Bad idea?
just curious
I've heard more positives then negatives. Let's see if I remember how to do a poll... I fucked up the time in the poll 3:00 eastern 12:00 pacific |
I think it will attract attention to your show, but I don't see why anyone would care to talk to those guys. Their patents clearly are such shit and they are a company full of lawyers with no intention of doing anything but extorting money.
How are they going to justify any of their bullshit to us and they sure aren't going to change their minds because they see what some of us think, they already know what we think. I think they would be better suited for a public lynching than a webmaster radio show. |
I hope you remember to put Ex Lax in their coffees
|
To make any show credible, you need to represent both sides of a certain issue and you're certainly doing that by allowing them a forum to discuss the issues at hand. Well done for you, I just hope the calls that come in will be handled professionally rather than people just bickering to them.

great one :)

I think its a great Idea ! No one else had tought of it or has made the effort to do so. What ever you may think of them, here is your chance to hear their side, and have the opportunity to respond.:2 cents:
|
I can't fucking wait, I hope the servers can handle the traffic, it's gonna be packed.
|
D you got ICQ? I had a question & your email is/was bouncing.
|
I'm stoned and lazy, when is that in Central time again? 1 right?
|
bad idea.
|
Mail call! ;-)p
|
Well since ya asked D$.
I believe it to be a bad move. I love ya man, but I think its not a good idea. I reccomend some "Technical" difficulties before the radio show. |
Hahaahahahah Acacia on a streaming web radio show, hey D$ if you haven't received your packet yet, you can bet it's in the mail after Wednesday.

The Jews had no interest in interviewing the Germans as to why they wanted to take their lives from them. |

Everyone doesn't have to agree with me, there's no right or wrong answer, just real ones. Food for thought, would you say no if they asked you? Ummmm, sorry, only non paper sending guests are allowed? LOL I'm looking forward to the interview because we all deserve to know as much information as possible, people can make up their minds. We're a smart industry, I give us all more credit then some. |
:disgust :repuke

I didn't realize we can make cartoons out of our posts. |
i just wanna see how these lawyers react to the questions. we all know they dont know shit about the internet.
|
If it makes anyone feel any better, I've been preparing for the last 48 hours straight, not including the last 3 weeks things got intense.
I was a philosophy and communications major. That will come in handy. I'm deep. |
Make it a full call in show, and let us all ROAST them!
Atleast have some fun with them, and make it more memorable then receiveing their packet of SHIT! |
just make sure you ask some good questions
|

I can't predict when they'll have to get off the phone. My intent is to get the good questions in first before callers. |
get a rope! :Graucho

Bad.
We all know what they are going to say in lawyeresque... I would much rather hear someone from the patent office present their side as to why this bogus patent (yes it is bogus) was not rejected. I would also be curious as to who it is in the patent office that is providing the expertise and knowledge as to the history and workings of the internet. Someone very unqualified is making very important decisions which will shape the future or demise of the greatest technology advance in a long time. I would love to know whether berman and his associate leeches have any ties to extreme right wing conservatives or any ties to the bush or ass*c*r*o*f*t people. Yes a conspiracy theory... :2 cents: That said good luck with the show. |
Could it be if Acacia is on your show and you dont beat them up. They will leave you alone because this sounds like PR stuff to me. I love your show but you're not 60 minutes lol,so the need to show both sides doesnt make as much sense.
|
More communication is never bad.
But if you're expecting Acacia to spout anything more than typical lawyer/corporate BS it won't happen. They'll say they're not trying to do any harm. They'll say they're protecting their business. They'll even try to compare themselves to real businesses who do real things and they'll spout a whole bunch of crap to try and get people to forget they're scummy thieves committing legal extortion and exploiting the legal system and patent system. |
Hopefully you can archive it right after the show, I will be in the dentists chair during the show!
|
I would imangine it will be some mumbo jumbo that will be the company line - BUT
KNOW THINE ENEMY! - this is our best chance. I have seen so much utter nonsense on the boards that I hope everyone goes to the DMoney archieve and listens to the last show (which was handled very professionally) and a lot of questions were answered there. No point in raising questions that have already been answered by JMM. I am sure you have some good questions that have already been sent to you. No need for stuped pointless call-ins just to vent. I would hate to see us look like a bunch of idiots just for entertainment, and detract from the seriousness of the show. This is a business - handle it in a businesslike way. This is LAW - whether we think it's fair or understand it. It will continue to unfold in the slow tedious technical way that trials usually take. Get used to it! |
it will be interesting that's for sure.

Here are some good questions to ask Acacia: 1. If you own the patents on streaming media as you claim, why haven't you taken action against Microsoft who is the largest distributor of streaming media products in the world. In fact every single one of the people you have sued in the adult space were using technology they licensed from Microsoft. How can you explain your lack of action towards them? 2. Why hasn't Acacia gone after the many different Content Distribution Networks like SpeedEra or Akamai or NineSystems or LimeLight or FeedRoom? They deliver over half of the non-adult streaming media on the Internet and most of the major record lables and movie studios utilize technology from these companies. 3. What are you doing to improve your patent base and technology to protect your patent from becoming outdated as the Internet changes and technology is improved? 4. How big is your bodyguard? |
Guess I will move the poll up near the top again since Gutterboy missed it:warning
