Producing is much different than downloading. I don't see what the problem is.

Producing, purchasing, distributing, and downloading are all different things.

I've had CP email spams sent to me, and I'm sure the images probably downloaded onto my computer's cache on the hard drive. Should I be charged and registered as a sex offender along with the other 10 million people that got sent that email spam?

There's two lines you don't cross in prison... hurting kids and hurting women. The guys there know what they've lost and the thought that you're out there abusing those two most precious things to them... well... they don't take kindly to it.

I'd say yes he should be punished if a jury in Morris County found that he was purposely downloading the images.

I'm not trying to defend what the guy did, but how can you prosecute someone as a producer when he didn't produce it?

Prosecute the guy for purposely placing obscene material on a public computer.

What things in society are considered so depraved that even association with such acts or events is considered unlawful. I mean there really arent many things where you arent exactly commiting a true crime for which you can get jail time, but viewing child pornography is one such thing and for good cause, anyone getting off on such shit certainly has one or two screws up in his head loose and needs some sort of help. Maybe jail isnt always the answer but then again letting someone go with just a slap on the wrist isn't exactly a deterent.

These CP folks don't think they are hurting children. Did you ever see the nudist camp propoganda? Its obvious what the real deal is with that whole shananigans too. But to them its called natural loving beauty.
