Selling a paysite
 

A friend and I are discussing how much you can sell a paysite for.

Let´s say that you have a paysite:

1) The site makes you $2500-3000 a month without any real advertising effort.
2) The site is fairly unique.
3) There´s currently no affiliate webmasters (because of a decision not to have affiliates)
4) There´s a database with 11,000 previous customers who all bought a membership at this site within the last 1½-2 years
5) There´s a database with a little more than 300 previous webmasters.

What would that be worth if you were to sell it ?

And NO, it´s not the site in my sig (it´s not for sale :-) )

Assumming your numbers are true, a fair price is $7500-$9000 (or three times gross monthly revenue) plus a steep discounted price for any transferable content and scripts.

All depends who you sell it to.. but you could probebly sell it for 12k or so.. Think of what your offering.. (if accurate)

domain name
paysite design
paysite content
current members database
monthly income of 3k or so
and whatever else you have to go with it...

all that, and you will make your money back in a few months? not bad.. IMO

11,000 customers over the last 18-24 months and it makes $3k or less a month? That's one low priced membership.

It made a lot more the first 6-9 month because of affiliate webmasters and advertising. Currently it´s making appr. 2500-3000 just sitting there...

Based on your info AND based on a solid revenue trend over the past 12 months (ie, it isn't going in the toilet fast), I'd prolly pay about 12k.
