non-porn online payment processing...
i'm thinking about setting up either an ipsp or a merchant account for some mainstream stuff... not sure i'm going to do it yet, but which is better? at this time i doubt i'd be pushing a whole lot through, still mostly taking more traditional payments or the usual online services. but i'd like to be able to set up some recurring and stuff... might make things easier for some clients.
how hard is it to get a regular merchant account? my bank said it's like $25/mo, and i have to buy gateway software. i dunno if that will do everything i want or not.. i think they said it's a couple hunnert bones for it. i dunno if it's worth it, just curious if anyone out there is running mainstream payment stuff through merchant accounts or ipsps... |
Hello,
This depends on your application/biz model, but in my experience it's best to get your own merchant account for non-adult processing. In most cases (again, it depends on your biz model), the rates are lower and you have ultimate control. Most non-adult Jettis clients have their own merchant accounts. Good luck. Kjell |

if they can't beat anyone's price they'll give you 500 bucks ;) :thumbsup :thumbsup |
i use paypal (let the hating begin)

mostly it's for certain recurring payments and stuff, otherwise normal processors like epassporte, paypal, and traditional checks/cash would work fine. i guess i need to figure out more how much i'm going to be pushing. time to start doing some footwork i guess.
